What a letdown. The hostess was really the only positive aspect, as she seated us promptly. Unfortunately, the waitress forgot my iced tea, and I had to ask her to remove it from our overpriced bill. I ordered the homemade chips with Old Bay seasoning, but they lacked any flavor, so I had to request extra spice. What I received was a small portion served with a cheap ranch dressing. The piccata chicken was mushy and unappetizing—likely boiled in water—and the sauce was so diluted that it had no taste. Overall, the food was bland, overpriced, and paired with poor service.
It's under new ownership and has improved significantly. The chef even came out to check on the diners, which was a nice touch. The waitstaff worked well together and provided great service. We tried one special dish that was quite good, while another item from the regular menu was decent but not outstanding. The restaurant was impressively clean, and it seemed like they had made some updates to the furnishings—some looked brand new. The cooking is good, though not yet exceptional, but they are definitely on the right track. We will definitely return.
After that, we waited 15 minutes without anyone coming to serve us, even though it wasn't particularly busy at the time. I noticed that two tables that were seated after us received attention from the server before us. At that moment, I began to feel that our treatment was related to the fact that we are brown. Ultimately, we decided to leave. If you're a minority and new to the area, I would recommend looking for another place to dine.
We have been in the DMV area for 2 years but had trouble finding a restaurant that had casual elegance and good food. Hunters is all of that with great service and good prices friendly owners too. We went there for an early NYE diner and were surprised to find balloons and a band too. Truly a gem!

I had a great experience at this restaurant! The food and service were excellent. I ordered the New York strip, and I have to say it was an amazing steak. My family also enjoyed their meals. We'll definitely be coming back to this place!
Enjoyed a quick and casual meal for takeout from Hunter's Bar and Grill. Great for a weeknight to go order on a busy day, when cooking takes too nuch time. The chicken wings were great. Had them grilled with hot sauce. Will be back.
Road trip to Great Falls VA and we stopped at Hunter's on the advice of a friend. He did not steer us wrong! Staff, service and lastly the food were all wonderful. If you're in the area, you won't be disappointed
Excellent food and a pleasant atmosphere. Food that are both delicious and promptly served. They provide amazing burgers that are meaty, juicy, and grilled to perfection.
