Even though we placed our order in advance, the restaurant failed to get the specifics right and even forgot one of the meals. The starters were decent, but the melon seemed to have been out for too long. The Pork Belly was delicious, but the potatoes lacked flavor and the pickled vegetables were not appetizing. The desserts, however, were excellent. Service was subpar, as the older gentleman had difficulty hearing orders and frequently overlooked drink requests. Additionally, he never returned to offer more drinks. Despite the nice atmosphere and generally satisfactory food, the restaurant could use more attention to detail in their dishes and service improvements overall.
I dined at this restaurant over 20 years ago. Although the menu is not as extensive as it once was, the options offered are well-crafted and the restaurant continues to provide a wonderful fine dining experience. My wife has multiple food allergies, but the staff and chef worked together to accommodate her needs and provide a delicious meal that met her dietary restrictions. The ambiance of the restaurant is also very relaxing and enjoyable.
I called to make a reservation for a family birthday celebration, but after 11 minutes of being on hold and listening to music, I still hadn't been able to speak to anyone who could help. It's disappointing because we had wanted to celebrate at this restaurant after attending a wedding reception there last year. We might try again for the next birthday, but for now, we have made a reservation at a different restaurant for the six of us.
Stunning setting. Dates back to 1086. Thats 20 years after the Battle of Hastings. Fascinating place. Food was excellent. Brown onion soup to start was excellent and then the sirloin steak was cooked to perfection. The dauphinoise potatoes were probably the best I've had. Excellent choice of wines 6 pages to choose from. Reasonably priced. Went for a rioja which was sublime. What a night.

Went here for my Father's b'day. Had read some mixed reviews so a little concerned but actually no issues, as the food was very nice and sensibly priced for the quality. Was a Saturday night and only one table wasn't taken. They had a big event on, so parking wasn't easy despite large car park. Basically a high-end restaurant in nice surroundings at a reasonable price.
This is a very elegant dining room with some lovely old wooden panelling. The tables are nicely presented and our waitress was friendly and helpful. When we visited the hotel was very quiet and there were only two other guests dining. The room was quite chilly and the menu was not really to our taste. An interesting experience but not one that we would wish to repeat.
We were celebrating our 13th wedding anniversary here as 13 years ago we were married at the same venue. All three courses were superb. The service was very fast. Only one server but he did a great job. Very reasonably priced at £85 for two which included two rounds of drinks. The only irritant was the piano recording playing all night.
Me and my husband went to the Huntly to treat ourselves a little while ago. We had 3 courses and all the food was perfect. The lovely waiter Gio looked after us that night and made us feel very welcome.

Had a great breakfast in very peaceful and delightful setting. A very traditional dining experience.
