Hwy 55 Burgers Shakes Fries

Let me begin by saying I love Hwy 55 but this place did not live up to what I am used to when I visit. When I waited to be served, I noticed that the restaurant was very smoky and the floors were baked in fat; that is a sign that fat traps are not cleaned. Secondly, I noticed that there was a ton of garbage around the restaurant and the floors looked like they had not been cleaned in a time. After I did some research and looked at the door, I noticed a low note during a recent DHEC visit and looked at the report. Sure enough the things I noticed were all marked, giving them their low score. My recommendation would be to close the restaurant for a deep cleaning for one day or two to get things back on course. Short staff is not an acceptable excuse. There were almost as many employees as people eat in the restaurant. The food was with what is expected at Hwy 55, but the atmosphere and cleanliness of the restaurant was not nearby.

2022: The staff should try to recognize the customers when they enter. There is no specific place to go commands. The air was very smokey and the floors must be cleaned. My order sat a few minutes before the baggage and the hand to me. I asked for no cherry on the shake and no onions on the hot dog, but both were included. Overall, the food was good, but the quality of the restaurant has decreased. 2019: We tried all American Cheeseburger Combos with strawberry shakes. Everything was great. We wanted to go, but the restaurant was sweet and clean. I downloaded the app and have a free shaker on my next visit and have already won another reward after the first purchase.

I usually experience wonderful service and great food here, always a pleasure in the past but my last 2 visits have been horrible. Floor is greasy and visibly dirty to the point where it's slippery when walking. Entire dining room was filled with grill smoke that didn't dissipate the entire vist. The kicker though was the dead flies floating in the lemonade bubbler machine. I will never eat here again.

For a late lunch, very tasty! I have the 2 hot dog meals with french french fries and a sequence of onion rings. Everything was very good and perfectly cooked. My server was on site. I'll definitely eat back there.
