The main feature of this restaurant is 'all you can eat' buffet. The restaurant will deliver an ipad to your table. You then place your order of 5 items at a time - with a wait between orders of at least 10 minutes. The order of a sushi roll is not a full roll, rather it is served in only 2 slices of a roll. because of this way of serving, I cannot tell how 'fresh' and made to order each roll is. The food is decent, but not outstanding as far as sushi goes. The rolls are filled with much more 'rice' as filler than you would 'normally' see in a sushi roll (but then again, this is all you can eat, so they can't give away so much for a single price. I tried the all-can-eat option with my friends. The rules for it may appear a little cumbersome, but in the end they can be summarized as follows:1) Each person may order up to 5 items at a time.2) A 10-minutes time must pass between one order and the following one3) Drinks are not includedOnce you understand this, you can enjoy the find Japanese food offered by Ichido. The service is very fast, and the food tastes fresh. The "hot plates" section could be richer, but anyway Ichido offers anyhing that a Japanese restaurant should normally provide. Among the best dishes, the "tuna sushi sandwich" is really worth a shot!I will definitely eat again at Ichido!
We have been there for dinner and as we didn't know the restaurant we ordered bento boxes to get a quick overviewThe quality of the food is very poor. Misu soup almost cold and the typical taste is missing. The boxes with sushi, nigri, and deep fried ebi and chicken is a tastless experience too. Souces are missing, chicken is not freshly prepared and totally hard and dry.The service is also very poor. Many customers received first the food and then the drinks, tables were very dirty and not prepared for cutomers. For tissue you had to ask.For a Japanse restaurant very, very poor.There arenmuch better Sushi restaurants in Darmstadt.
Buffet concept is time limited, 90 mins total, with 9 rounds of orders allowed at 10 minutes interval. Each person is allowed 5 items per order. Restaurant has modern decor with electronic (tablet) ordering system.Sushi tasted authentic and has some selections that are less traditional (fusion).Buffet menu was sufficiently large with starters, sushi, grilled & fried foods, dessert.Note that some dishes are only available for dinner.Given the price of 14.90 Eur (lunch) per person, I would highly recommend this restaurant for a casual, value-for-money Japanese meal with friends.

Apart from the food, nothing was good here. The sushi is of course a matter of taste, but it was very tasty. 4/5 The service, however, was a complete disaster. My reservation was simply denied until I showed it to him in his book with my name and number, then I was insulted and sat at a table and waited three quarters of an hour for drinks. The " all you can eat " system is a bit complicated, but kind of fun.. The sushi is good, there are different creative sushis.. However, it's not necessarily the freshest.. The service is very friendly and the atmosphere of the place is quite nice. I would come again. It is definitely much better than other "Sushi all you can eats" in Darmstadt.
Sorry but the meat was tough and the second round was all completely cold. It's not fun to eat like that, and then there's the price too. In the picture these are fried mushrooms. Place new and nice. The food however is not good sushi: nigiri too small and the majority of inside-out-rolls are strage, you don't really feel the freshness of the fish. The price of the all-you-can-eat is 20 Euros, fine but really expensive for this quality. One of the worst sushi in Darmstadt. I will not come back.
