I decided to take two friends out for a treat to this very welcoming family restaurant where the food is prepared with loving care as if it were your mum fussing after you returned home from work. The restaurant has a very varied Italian Menu...and everything is freshly cooked and prepared. Although, Montreux sits by a lake, the only disadvantage is that Il Brigantino is situated in a street above the lake so that you do not get a lakeside view That having been said, the food speaks for itself. This place comes off good in the ratings here but dont be fooled. We had mellanzane, pizza and risotto and the only tasty thing was the mellanzane which was not really a real mellanzane but rather eggplant and cheese roughly cut and put in oven....The other two dishes was abysmal and was to a large degree a product of semi fabricato. So if u like good food then find another place. Ps they sell Wine by dl. Are we having Wine or just tasting it
Very friendly restaurant and family atmosphere. Without reservation we were very well received and served very quickly. The dishes were very good and well prepared. The beef tartare and tiramisu were delicious. A great desire to come back, and a big thank you for the warm welcome Mario
Der Service ist super freundlich und aufmerksam und der Aussenbereich hatte trotz Regen ein gemütliches Ambiente. Wir hatten die beste Pasta seit langem und die Portionsgrössen sind super! Der Dessert war der krönende Abschluss. Sehr zu empfehlen.

A delightful Hostess!! With food prepared well, Il Brigantino is an excellent bistro. And quite lively even on a Tuesday night.
Very kind staff. They accepted us and found a table for 5 even though we had not reserved. The Tiramisu is great.

Stick to the Italian specialties particularly the seasonal ones with the white truffles from Alba.
