Hi I was recommended to try iL Gusto for a function and I can tell you I was so thrilled that I had done so. It is tucked away under the Cecil Apartments in Cronulla and you probably would not realise what a gem this place is !!! Its lovely and intimate not huge so you can mingle with family and friends. It can cater for 40+ people which makes it like a family gathering and we hired out the restaurant last night for my 70th birthday with 34 friends and family. The food was amazing, staff so helpful and friendly. This is definitely a must to hire out for a birthday, anniversary, christening or just a celebration with friends. Let’s start by saying this restaurant is NOT in Kurnell. It’s in Cronulla. Somebody needs to change this.The food is good. Risotto with chicken was nice and there was plenty of it and it was hot. Meals my companions had were also plentiful and were enjoyed.Service however was not good. If you want to style yourself as a good "silver service" restaurant, then lay table as such. Make sure there are enough wine glasses for all the dinners. When the entre is finished and the cutlery, napkins and side plates have been used make sure they are replaced BEFORE the main dish arrives and the dinner doesn’t have to ask. This place is our favourite pizza place in Cronulla! Brenda, Zoran and the rest of the staff are great.Food is really tasty and right up my alley. You can eat a la carte or just have a pizza.Chef Zoran is a real character, welcoming you into his restaurant and his partner Brenda (who runs the show) is friendly and charming.It's always busy on a Friday night, but they always try to fit you in.They do home delivery as well and all the staff work well together. They are a finely tuned machine.Table service could be a little bit better, but I'm being a bit picky here.This is the place my wife and I go when we want to eat pizza or Italian.
Il Gusto is a cozy restaurant located under the Cecil Building in the center of Cronulla. The staff was well-organized and attentive for our medium-sized group. The menu offers a variety of options including pizzas, salads, and pastas. The main courses were generously portioned and reasonably priced. Most of our group of eight enjoyed their meals, although one person who ordered the risotto was disappointed as it was not creamy and seemed to be not freshly made. Despite the cold evening, the atmosphere was cozy with comfortable furniture and not too crowded. Overall, it was an enjoyable night at Il Gusto.

On a recent visit to Sydney we dined at Il Gusto at Cronulla twice. On the first night I had a really delicious pepper steak with a cream pepper sauce that was finger licking good! Hubby had a seafood pasta dish that was loaded with seafood and a great sauce. Second night we both chose pasta dishes and cleaned the plates! The place was busy both nights and given the number of Italian restaurants in the Cronulla area, this is a good sign. Street parking is a bit hit and miss - there is a large beachfront carpark a little up the road. Worth a visit. Really good value.
This was our first visit to Il Gusto. We came in as a group of 6 and were seated quickly. Bruschetta pizza was tasty and freshly made. All dishes were reasonably priced and arrived together. Pasta dishes were tasty and good size. Main meals were well cooked and all our group were satisfied with the choice of restaurant. Service was efficient and friendly.
The restaurant was busy even on a midweek night. There were plenty of choices on the menu, the food arrived quickly and the flavours were excellent. I met up with friends who go there regularly, and the waitress even remembered to skip the anchovies for him! Prices were good and the serving size was generous. I'll go back again, and happy to recommend.
Il Gusto has become a favourite eating place for us and the grandchildren love it. Food is lovely and would recommend the chicken Boscaola. Nothing is too much trouble for the very cheerful staff. Would definitely recommend it.

The $10 pizza or pasta night are the best. The food at il Gusto is fresh and flavoursome. Kids love the kids meals. Adults love the great selection of food on offer for reasonable prices.
