Outside the restaurant is very cute. It is small inside with tiny tables, but still a cute atmosphere. We had made prior reservations prior to coming. We are a party of 4, middle aged American tourist. The hotel had made reservations for us. We ordered red and white wine. The owner was agitated that we ordered white. He came back with an old bottle that was not chilled. It was decent and drinkable. Food was decent (ravioli). But the owner seemed cranky the entire time we were there. As we were finishing up our main course, he said he was ready to close and to leave. We told him that we'd not even ordered dessert. The chef finally came up and said he would stay. It was literally the strangest...
My wife and I stopped in for dinner and I ordered the bolognese. The waiter brought back gnocchi. I explained that I ordered the bolognese and he kept saying “gnocchi” over and over again each time I tried to explain myself. He got progressively louder each time trying to embarrass me until I had no choice but to eat a rank creamy potato dish that was nothing like what I ordered. Unbelievably rude place and the food was terrible. You need to avoid this restaurant. For the quality of the food and the awful attitude of the employees. Absolutely awful experience. I paid $50 for a bad attitude and a rotten meal.
We visited Paris in September and have been talking about our dining experience at Il Piccolino ever since. Everything about this was amazing the quaint dining room, the eccentrically decorations, the humorously translated menu, and not least, the food. Il Piccolino was recommended by the concierge at our hotel when we asked about something different for dinner and she called ahead and got us a table. We were happily greeted upon arrival and given the translated menu. Everything tasted fresh and amazing. I can 't wait to return to Paris and visit again!
We are here on August 25th 2018, and we’re disappointed. The outside has a nice appearance, and the inside has a good ambiance. However, being charged €70 for a plate of Tagliatelle and a bowl of bolognese and 4 bottles of beer, is a bit of a rip off. The food was good though.
