We recently hosted a dinner with almost 40 friends in the private, back area of Il Porcellino. We had an incredible time! The space itself is beautiful perfect for a family style Italian dinner celebration. And the food itself, plus the drinks and service, were spectacular. I have decided to re-write my 4 year old review for Il Porcellino because this is literally how long ago I have visited this place. We simply wanted to come back to see if this place has changed much and the conclusion is............nope. The food is still good and simple if my memory serves. Fast service at very reasonable prices. To us it is the middle of the road, if you just want to have some simple and old school Italian food but not with the typical portions, this is a good choice. One of the best Italian restaurants I’ve ever been. The food is just insanely delicious. We ordered the garlic bread and spicy calamari as starters and boy, were they delicious! Not only is their pasta amazing, the tiramisu was just excellent! A must try when you’re in town. Very busy at dinner time so be sure to mark a reservation.

Nice restaurant with a great location in the downtown area. The food was great with the perfect size and taste. We tried different plates and definitely the lasagna was the best! The servers were nice and polite. I think that maybe the only thing missing here is a good piece of bread at the beginning of the meal.

Fantastic atmosphere here in River North. Went for dinner for four (make sure to get a reservation) and enjoyed the homemade garlic bread (with garlic butter poured table side) and the incredible orecchiette with sausage which had the perfect amount of heat. Go here and you won't be disappointed!

The food and service at this restaurant is wonderful. It's a good sized place but it's not loud like so many restaurants these days. Reservations are necessary.

Tadar was an amazing server for us! The corner table in the back room was the perfect, romantic spot for us to celebrate our anniversary!

Huge pasta menu in a nicely decorated restaurant. Very impressed by the orecchiette!
