The great thing about travelling in Germany as an Englishman is the Germans don't translate everything, menus are in German ( as a rule ) this makes eating out fantastic fun, and choosing a beer even better. And I'm being serious, in spain everything is in English, where is the fun in that! So maybe I accidentally ordered a pizza with a chewy base with a distinctly fresh from the freezer texture. I also ordered a salad to start and a beer in the interim. Again this could be a cultural divide, but I had to wait for the food before I could have my beer, despite me asking three times. went there for a business lunch. were seated immediately and service was cordial. we ordered grilled squid as an appetizer to share, it was very fresh and tasty, ordered a bottle of wine for the table, decent wine and fairly priced. I had the spaghetti Aglaia Olia, which was good, a little too much sliced garlic for my taste but I was able to move it aside and eat my pasta. the food my guests ordered look good as well.

In Munich for Octoberfest and stayed in Aschhiem. Went to this fantastic little Italian restaurant with friends. Was pleasantly surprised to find genuine Italians running the whole show. Had a great night here and all the usual Italian dishes were on the menu. Prices were reasonable, service was quick and friendly, the food was excellent, the place was buzzing and the owner bought us a drink!! What more can you say.

While staying in Aschheim on business myself and colleague found this fantastic restaurant.The staff were great and provided a wonderful service.Lots of choice in the menu and all felt authentically Italian.The bruschetta was delicious and my steak with rocket and Parmesan was perfect.Nice house wind and was a really reasonable price for the whole meal.Definitely go here if you're in Aschheim! At Il Veliero you at once feel at home, especially when you come with your kids. The staff is always joking with the children, very warm hearted and helpful. The food is absolutely delicious. Each time we are in Aschheim, we make sure to go there. Sometimes it's hard to get a table so making a reservation is highly recommended.

For all those vacationers queuing on Autobahn 99; instead of crawling forward at 5 km/h just exit at Aschheim and have a wonderful meal at Il Veliero. You will recharge your batteries and satisfy your hunger with traditional and daily fresh Italian cuisine. A true local gem.

Used to come here in the days I used to work for Escada nearby, Dornach. I'm glad to say it's still excellent. Also good to see that although only small five waiters are attending to guests. Every table taken this Friday lunch time.

The place is with excellent Italian food and friendly Italian waiters. I was here for lunch, but it was like a good dinner. Food is very fresh, well prepared and funny presented.

A varied selection of traditional Italian dishes, busy with locals, served within a good time and the Proceseco and house red wine was lovely.
