Illa Mae's Restraunt

Trust the reviews. Everything here is delicious! The kepzenis were perfectly fried, shrimp and grits perfectly cooked and seasoned. But the real star of dinner tonight? The collards. Holy cow! SO tender, just a little heat....maybe a bit on the salty side, but I loved them. The yams and green beans were just as great, too! The only bit of a let down was the mac and cheese- but even that wasnt bad (how do you go wrong with homemade mac and cheese? , it just didnt shine as much as everything else. Seriously, the food is some of the best Ive had in a long while!

the collagreens were good but it doesnt need seasoning since its naturally salty. that may be too much sodium intake for folks with blood pressure issues. same with the yellow rice.... while very good, it didnt need gravy. too much sodium. overall though the food was delicious!

truly the best Fish Grits grits in town.... if you like crispy Fish this is definitely the place for u. plenty of grits.....not just a scoop like other places... FYI.....I order basa fish but all the fish is good...the whiting and the flounder.... all nice crispy

Amazing. The fish was fried to perfection, it was delicious. I really enjoyed the corn bread as well it was moist and so good : I will be ordering again soon. They were nice enough to include some hot sauce in my order as well. I appreciate that, 5 stars :D

Our food was great as usual. Ila Mae apos;s went above beyond to call for input/preference about a substitution needed.
