This place gets quite busy during happy hour, I definitely recommend making reservations in advance. Especially during the weekends. I tried the Alaskan Halibut, Grilled NY Strip, and the Key Lime Pie. Everything was delicious. If you are in the mood for something a bit more healthy, the Alaskan Halibut is the way to go. The beluga lentils are such a nice touch to the dish, and the grana padano broth is so light yet rich at the same time. Grana Padano is a cheese similar to Parmesan. Perfect! Kinda loud and bustle-y like a downtown restaurant should be but loud with conversation not too-loud music. Lots of cozy booths. Never once had to wonder where is our server/cocktail/food ... Kailei was on it and personable. Well-made martini with beautiful hand-stuffed blue cheese olives. We came back for happy hour with some friends, and couldn't have been more impressed. Ross, our server, said there wasn't anything bad on the menu- and he wasn't wrong. This time we tried the hush puppies- which were fabulous. They were served with a sweet and spicy sauce that was the perfect counterpoint, and I may have been in love. My friends also said their lobster rolls and fish sandwich were on point. We had a few different cocktails- a blackberry one that was on tap, a strawberry lemonade, and the sangria. Nice place for a night out. Definitely the best oysters I have had in Denver. The rest didn't wow me. I found the mahi to be good but the sauce to be overpowering and there weren't many potatoes. The cesar salad was a bit too lemony for my taste. They will split the salad if you order for two people if you like. The gumbo had a large amount of seafood in it, which we loved, but was very smokey. The service was excellent and provided everything we need. They will bring bread if you ask for it. It was a moderate noise level but I can see it get loud on crowded days. We will definitely be back to try out more of the raw bar and cocktails.

Amazing experience and my favorite seafood restaurant. This review is long overdue and it's been a year since I visited clearly this restaurant is still on my mind! The quality of the fish here is incredible, the staff was friendly and the drinks were good. We tried to walk in without a res (big mistake) but made a reservation for the very next day. It was extremely busy but we never felt pressured to eat quickly. Definitely recommend the calamari. Jax will be my go to spot whenever visiting Denver.

Came with some friends and we had a spectacular time. Our server was super friendly and shared her favorite menu items. We ordered quite a bit of food, drinks and appetizers. We ordered oysters and they were to die for. It was kind of noisy but we had a great conversation. I appreciated how they had crayons available to draw on the paper covered tables. Lots of variety of seafood, definitely a spot for seafood lovers.

We were on the search for good East Coast oyster on Friday when we arrived in Denver. This was the second spot. The oysters weren't as good as the first place we had. The grilled octopus was chewy and flavor was med. Tuna poke was basic. Service is amazing here hence the 3 stars.

Fresh oysters and shrimp! Good service and love the Monday evening happy hour! As a southerner, I enjoyed the Cajun inspired food!
