India Gate - Reservar una mesa

I have found over the years that Indian food in continental Europe is often tailored to the local palate. This is as it should be, and there is nothing wrong with this, but it does sometimes lead to disappointment to those of us that like a traditional 'British' curry. But this seems to have changed a bit in recent years, and the India Gate is a good example of an Indian restaurant in the most unlikely of places that does a 'real' curry.The food was excellent, and they were happy to accommodate my 'off-menu' request (which meant I got my favourite combination of dishes). Service was friendly and efficient, and the décor was pleasant and comfortable. I'll be back.

Seit dem Besitzerwechsel ist das Mittagsbuffet nicht mehr so reichhaltig und die vegetarischen Varianten überwiegen. Es scheint auch nicht mehr so mit Liebe gekocht sondern das Oekonomische scheint zu überwiegen. Schade, denn leckeres, indisches Essen gehört mit zu meinen Favoriten. Ich werde dem Restaurant selbstverständlich nochmals einen Besuch abstatten und mir ein abschliessendes Urteil bilden. So wie Jetzt geht es aber nicht.

Mir war das ganze Essen zu scharf, obwohl ich das genommen habe, was eigentlich nicht scharf sein sollte, gemäss den Kellner. Richtig gut war das Essen nicht wirklich. Die Lage und das Ambiente gefielen mir ebenfalls nicht wirklich (neben Kaserne und Strasse).

Sehr gutes authentisches, indisches Essen. Mittagsmenüs sind sehr preiswert und der take away funktioniert ebenfalls bestens. Preis/Leistung top. Abzüge für das Ambiente und zum Teil für die Sprachprobleme.

Seitdem ein neuer Besitzer den Laden übernommen hat , ist das kein guter Inder mehr.Wenn man Lamm bestellt , bekommt man alles andere nur kein Lamm. Das Fleisch ist zäh und zu fest .
