Currently India gate is offering takeout only until all repairs are made from fire so time ago. Restaurant is expected to open some time in April. The food; Firstly, the butter chicken here is still amazing probably there most popular dish, gravy is amazing, chicken is full of flavour and very tender. The navrataan curry however was very watery, as if fish was expedited through cooking process, vegetables were cooked perfectly though. The beef dish we had was tough, lots of flavour, but tough. My wife and friends frequent India Gate on a regular basis. We do a lot of our own cooking but can't come close to making Indian Food as good as we can get at India Gate. The prices are reasonable and the food is consistently great. You can't beat the chicken jalfrezi, it's our go-to dish. We do a bit of travelling but India Gate is by far the best indian food we have ever had.
My wife and I are frequent flyers at India Gate both dine in and take out. Everything on the menu is great, we particularly like the samosas, butter chicken, chicken korma, lamb vindaloo, beef jalfrezi, and of course naan. Although we use the take-out options more now with kids (who also love it), it is still great. We make our own rice at home to save a bit of cash.

The restaurant had a fire but is open for take out. Was really impressed with how well the food was packed for takeout. The onion baja was ok, the samosa was very tasty, the garlic nann was amazing, coconut chutney was very tasty, butter chicken was flavorful but rather sweet.
One of our favourite restaurants by far. Always find the service fast and friendly. Menu selections are great as are the portions. Great food at a reasonable price. Looking forward to the reopening but will have to suffice with take out over the weekend.
Fairly typical Indian fare................................................................... Nice surroundings in good downtown location...................................... Ask for how hot you want your dishes and they can adjust accordingly. enjoy
We really enjoyed going there when the restaurant was open. Waiting patiently for it to re-open this year. Great food and service and very good value.

I was not into the bother of fine dining so asked if they woudl prepare a take out which I picked up after work. They did and it was perfect.
Fantastic Indian food!!! Everything is always super delicious. Fabulous location in downtown St. John's.
