Although this is named as a Indian/Nepalese restaurant, it is more a Nepalese restaurant, than an Indian one; and that's a good thing! We had the Momos, a standard at most Nepalese restaurants; but these were a bit of a disappointment as they served were lukewarm (almost cold), and not hot. The chutney was delicious though. And we followed that up with Sekuwa - which was excellent ! The meat was a bit chewy (which we were told it would be), and the spices on the meat were just amazing. We also had a Beef Himali and a Seafood dish.. both were average; but different than what one gets in a normal indian restaurant. This was accompanied by some bread, one of which as a Masala Naan -that contained...

To be honest, I'd have liked to rate this place somewhere between average & very good. So more good really. The entrées of pakoras & samosas were ok, nothing special, but the mains of Fish curry & goat curry were excellent. However what we didn't really like was the very long wait between entrée & main. Am not sure why the long wait as the restaurant wasn't very busy, and it seemed that all tables had a long wait as you could see people turning around anxiously looking for their food. Maybe short staffed in the kitchen. Also we were left with dirty plates for ages, had to flag down waitress to get them cleared. No "how was your food?' or "would you like anything else?". So we just got the bi...

A friend and I decided to have dinner at Gorkha Palace. It was Sat evening and the place while not crowded was quite full. There is also a function room upstairs where a party was in progress. The noise was deafening with quite a few shrill screams & loud laughter periodically adding to the loud music. We ordered our meal. The naans were well made & arrived hot & freshly made. Apart from that the food was actually quite disappointing. The curries we had ordered were all way too spicy and seemed to have jut chilli powder dominating any other flavours. The portion sizes were also a LOT smaller for the price compared to smiliar restaurants in the area that I have visited..Overall the mean was no...

Being new in the area, we were looking for a new Indian restaurant for eat in and take away. Walking past Gorka Palace we were concerned to see that the restaurant was almost empty, while other restaurants nearby were busy. Our concerns were misplaced. Service was friendly and quick. The food was good, and responsive to our requests with regard to how hot we wanted our currys. We started with the Mixed Plate. The Moms were unusual and good. Rogan Josh was tasty, but not spicy enough. The Chicken Malabar - requested specially hot - was good. Not all of these appear to be on the take away menu. Overall we enjoyed, I'd like to say this was good rather than average, and we will go again. Reserva una mesa ahora

Took over an hour for delivery which is even longer than it sounds considering I live half a kilometre from the restaurant. Dal I ordered was actually not bad, but the "Gorkha Special Lamb" was anything but special. It was just slightly better than a bad takeaway Indian shop's. Naan was good. Dumplings again, werent good at all. Can't say anything was terrible, but definitely not the place you want to eat from if you're in the mood to enjoy food.

Went there for special meal for our wedding anniversary. Restaurant empty, as we found, with good reason. Music repetitive, tinny and monotonous. Food mediocre. Rude waitress. Got my order wrong and kept telling me I told her the item they gave me. Very bad customer service. Waitress unpleasant for rest of evening. Beef had bad taste, garlic naan was burnt. Bad food, bad service.

Thursday night and my friends and I were the only patrons. Now I understand why: all servings were miniscule and the mains were rather pricey. The food ranged from tasty to very bland, i.e the Prawn Malabar. Second time, same result. I certainly won't be patronising it again.

This was a great night out, the Nepalese food was amazing and servings were generous, the friendliness of the owner made the experience even better. I would recommend Gorkha Palace if you want to try something new.. Reserva una mesa ahora

Went there mid-week with family. Naan and kulfi desserts were quite nice but curries were not fresh especially the meat. Service was OK and ambience is absent. Overall average food, not worth the value.
