I first learned about Innocent Ice Cream when they were selling gluten-free ice cream sandwiches out of a food truck around English Bay last year. Despite being a West End resident, I never had the chance to visit them while they were in the area. I was hoping to try them this summer if they returned to sell at the beach. To my surprise, Innocent Ice Cream has now opened a permanent shop in the Little Mountain area at Main Street and 33rd. They are Vancouver's first dedicated gluten-free ice cream parlour, offering a unique concept. I found out about their grand opening on social media and decided to visit them on their big day yesterday.
On Main street, there lies a secret hidden gem for those who enjoy frosty treats on a hot summer day. It’s called Innocent Ice-Cream and they specialize in gluten free ice-cream sandwiches!. They opened not too long ago and already the news of their existence has spread like wild fire. They invited me to come try their ice-cream sandwiches so I took Meta Knight with me to enjoy.
The ice cream sandwich is not cheap, but it was a decent-sized ice cream sandwich. As a treat, I would go back to try other flavours of ice cream and cookies. For someone who doesn’t always enjoy gluten free products, I give Innocent Ice Cream extra props for making me crave an ice cream sandwich specifically from them!
I found a hidden gem in the neighborhood! They had a great variety of dairy-free options as well. I always like to support local businesses, and this family-run restaurant did not disappoint. Their flavors were unique and the cookies paired perfectly with the ice cream.
