This restaurant is idyllic. Located on a small island in the Lauerzersee a short ride from Luzern, you reach the Island via a small ferry, climb the stairs to the restaurant, and allow yourself to be carried off on a gastronomic journey. While this is not an inexpensive restaurant, the service and food outweigh the cost. Everything we ate was super -- maybe the best salad I have ever had, the fish soup was delicious, and our main courses were flavorful and filling. The restaurant has a small but good selection of wines, both from Switzerland and abroad.This is a special occasion restaurant or someplace to take someone you love for a special evening. I will not forget it. Bravo!
Super target to go out of the city! Only 40min from Zurich? We got there, the small boat (transfer between the land and island) was waiting for us. The restaurant is on a small island, with lots of steps, excellent view and the small lake around! Very romantic place to be. We reserved the table a week an advance. The restaurant is very small what makes it very charming, home feeling and extremely warm welcoming. The service was good, the dishes very good and excellent wine list. We really enjoyed the time with our friends! We really would love to come back soon. At the end, we decided having our dessert outside, because of the gorges summer weather.
It's better to visit the restaurant in spring time or summer so to sit outside and enjoy the view. The garden is very beautiful. there is a small chapel outside, making a romantic atmosphere. Try the fish soup! its the best a have ever try! I recommend the restaurant for families, couples / group friends. Mind you, there is a small boat to take you to the restaurant, you have to pay a small amount of money (2-3 rappen) for going and coming back.
Loreley Setting. Pleasant service. Food is ok, but noteingewiesen to Rave about (salad very fresh but sauce tasteless). Small portions. But very overpriced (15.- for a soup....). Best comes at the end: bring a bag of Swiss francs with you as they don't accept MasterCard! Nor visa!
