I feel like I've made a fantastic discovery in the sleepy twickenham. I like the city, but I don't know a restaurant that is really special, beyond a good gastropub and a decent italian. but this......wow they are not of the unprecedented name [a friend said it sounds like a mediocre hotel] and I was a bit cynical about a menu that is Indian, Thai, English and French. as it turns out, everything works brilliantly the menu choices, the decor, the beautiful staff. and the eating the best we had for years in a restaurant. we had never had 'amuses bouches' before an Indian meal these little choices were like mini fireworks at the gaumen. starter of calamari and satays by huh, garn, bark meat fishcake incredible combinations of aromen. the mango sorbet as a palate cleaner was another surprise and phenomenal. I have a confident choice for the main monk 'sri lankan style '. I think I wanted to see how great this cook was. it could now be my favourite dish and the cook/patron ram jalasutram, who was chef at gleneagles and the dorchester, and already has a successful place in oxford. he is a genie, I think, and small twickers gets the advantage of his new restaurant.
