I went to Iron Horse yesterday. It used to be a nice place to eat, but a few months ago when I went with some friends, the chicken salad had tuna instead of chicken. The manager refused to acknowledge that the chicken was actually tuna, despite it tasting and smelling like tuna. Yesterday I returned and the roasted chicken had a strange taste. I called the waitress because I thought it wasn't cooked properly, and she explained that they cook the chicken, freeze it, and then cook it again to serve. The price was $27, but as someone who cooks often, I can tell that the chicken was not tasty and appeared pink and undercooked. Chicken should not be served and prepared in that way at a restaurant...
I have dined at this restaurant over 10 times and each visit has been fantastic, so I felt it was time to give them some well-deserved praise in a review. I love the diverse range of options on the menu, but it's the consistently delicious and high-quality food that keeps me returning. The service is always friendly and efficient, with the manager, Jason, regularly checking in to ensure our experience is top-notch. I've attached a photo of the latest dessert I enjoyed. Highly recommend this place!
This place is amazing! After searching Yelp for Brandy Fried Chicken, we found Iron Horse Tavern in Folsom. They serve brandy fried nuggets, which were delicious. We also tried the sweet and spicy shrimp, cheesy bread, and a half salad with fresh greens, Bleu cheese, dried cranberries, and balsamic vinegar dressing. Our server was excellent and helped us navigate the menu. Friendly service, great food, and a pleasant atmosphere - we will definitely be returning!
Loved the Folsom location. Smelled so fresh clean throughout the restaurant. We were seated right away. There were 3 of us. Food:Tavern burger, with pepper jack. This place is great for any occasion in my opinion. Someone who's a foodie I appreciate their plating skills! The food was amazing and the homemade salad dressing is SOOOO good! The ambiance is very calming as we went at night and I like the vibes. The bartender even gave my bf a birthday shot which was nice
The food at this restaurant is delicious. You must try the sweet and spicy shrimp, it's a must-have. The Tavern's cheese bread is decent, but it was a bit too heavy. A definite must-try is the roasted salmon. And don't miss out on the incredible caramelized carrots with black garlic demi sauce.
The fish did not meet my expectations given the price. It was not fresh and the flaked crumbled cod did not taste good. It lacked flavor and had a metallic taste. I ended up throwing it out.
Cubano had way too much mustard. French fries were all soggy (they were not in the past). The mac and cheese trio was very bland. Quality and taste has gone down.

This is a great restaurant. If you leave feeling hungry, you might have a tapeworm. The patio is excellent, warm and cozy even in cold weather.
First time visiting and worth it. kids menu meal was surprisingly big portion. Love their soup of the day.
