Two weeks ago, my girlfriend suggested we take my mother to a restaurant that would be a welcome change to the type of eating establishment to which we normally attend. WOW, was I pleasantly surprised. Mother, who happens to be a tad picky asked for an item which wasn't on the menu and our waitress who we found out later, was also a part owner, gladly indicated that kitchen staff could easily put together a mean grilled cheese. My girlfriend ordered the hot turkey. The portion was plentiful, the food was delectable (her words) and the ambiance of the beach kept her attention away from the expedition to which I undertook. It's National Fish 'n Chips day so the girls and I thought we'd go to Island Girls for none other than Fish and Chips. Two girls ordered fish & chips ($9.99) and two girls orders fish/scallops & chips ($13.49). I'm really glad that I ordered the scallops as well as the fish, because the fish was nothing to rave about - a very very tiny piece of fish with lots of batter. Atmosphere was very dated. Will probably not be returning was the consensus.

One of my main places to eat especially if I'm looking for delicious home cooked meals and delicious homemade desserts. The staff are very friendly and attentive and make you feel at home.
