Islander Pub Grille

UPDATE! We were in on a Friday night and the place was hopping. The bar was full with locals coming and going and the dining room stayed full but there never was a wait. We were greeted and seated promptly and our drink orders were taken. We ordered a basket of onion rings as an appetizer (stellar, homemade but heavy) Our food came uncharacteristically fast and was prepared just right and delicious. The server kept us in tea and checked on us appropriately. Overall, it was a very good visit. The table was clean but I did not go to the bathroom, so I can't report on that. We've eaten here for years, and always found the food to be decent, and the service always great. Today was horrible. We saw two couples sat 5 to 10 minutes after us. We were served our drinks, and the waitress said she would be right back to get our order. We saw her go to the other two tables, and take their orders. I called her over, and told her we were here way before them. She responded by saying they were ready to order. I told her we've been ready for 20 minutes. Wow. Stopped in not knowing what to expect, and was pleasantly pleased. Small town pub, and bar food. Menu varied from burgers and dogs to seafood fettuccine. We ordered burgers and wow, hand patted burgers that were cooked just right. Very juicy and tasty. I got mine with LTMO and you really didn't need anything on them they were so good. We came in the middle of the afternoon so not busy at all. Place looks like an old saloon, you can definitely tell it's been here a while. Will we be back. Yes we will. Service a little slow at lunch, ordered a philly and it was nothing special. Not a lot on it. Waitress was nice, good place to stop but wouldn't go out of my way to come here.

The Islander is gone and now open under the name Blue Herron the new menu is great and so is the food and staff.
