As a former Islands employee for 6 years I've eaten at as well as worked at many locations and I was so pleased by the service I received at the Cerritos location. We ordered take out and they did a great job. The food was perfect and the service was great! The girl who was on take out was extremely helpful and had great customer service which is something Islands was always very focused on so it was nice to see the staff members holding to that work ethic. The Seal Beach location had always been my go to but the customer service at that one has been on the decline for some time now. So glad that I gave the Cerritos location a try!
I hadn’t been to islands in years and was sooo looking forward to the great experience that I’ve had in the past. I was very disappointed. First, while the girl was taking my order I could hardly hear her through her mask and the loud music playing, so I said “I’m sorry could you repeat that?” She then proceed to yell her question at me. Next was the horrible toilet water tasting pink lemonade. The appetizer was super runny (should have been a thicker consistency when cooked properly). The fries were extremely salty. The burgers soaked in grease and flavorless. Sad to say this ruined my desire to ever dine at any Islands again.
This location will repeatedly get your online order wrong. On multiple occasions we have not been given sauces, dressings, etc. when we requested it in the order (not even in the 'special requests ' section, but the sections you 're required to fill out when you order a salad/appetizer). Either their online ordering system is flawed or they just don 't read the order details. If you really wanna eat from here, go inside.
The food was good, but it is way overpriced. Unfortunately, the service was lacking. For example, by the time my daughter got ranch to dip her chicken strips in, they were cold. Same situation with drinks; refills took forever. We used to enjoy Islands, but this wasn't an enjoyable evening.

Stopped here to grab a quick lunch. Staff was quick and courteous. They served our beers and apps promptly. I had the island bowl with chicken teriyaki, and my wife had the fish tacos. Everything, including the spinach and arugula dip was very tasty and satisfying!
Maui burger on wheat bun was really good, my meat was medium well and it was perfect. I'm definitely going back whenever I feel like eating a burger. Soo much better than fast food burgers.
I felt like customer service was not all there. Waited awhile to get my water. The server messed up my order so I had to wait more. Food was good but wouldn't come to this location again.
The ice cream was fantastic, made with just a handful of ingredients (I checked the ingredient list to confirm it doesn’t contain eggs). The service was outstanding as well!

Charming restaurant with generous portion sizes and a friendly staff. They offer a variety of options on the menu. I had the matcha affogato, which I really enjoyed.
The ice cream has a pleasant honey flavor, but paying $6.45 for a hollowed-out cone is disappointing. It's frustrating to see this happen.
