Was reluctant to give this place ago after reading its up and down reviews, but decided to try and way and very happy I did. I am usually a regular at other Italian Restaurants in the Applecross and Freo areas, and will definitely be putting Itz Amore on my regular dining places.I found the place to be clean, staff friendly (even when they were busy) and the food was of a good to high standard. I have seen some reviews where people have complained about prices, clearly they haven't eaten out much as the prices here were pretty much as I would expect. This place used to be the best little cafe in the area. New owners, poor management, change of recipes have all contributed to us not patronising this restaurant any more. Last straw a few weeks ago when the kids were over for dinner and wanted italian. We had regularly got take away from this restaurant for many years. It was awful. Replaced the normal spaghetti with fat spaghetti noodles in the amatricana pasta dish. Flavour had gone. Very bland. And my daughter in law found a piece of chicken in it. I am so sad to be writing this review as I have written numerous good reviews about this place and how good the food is. This is local to me and was probably my most favourite cafe. They still do the best lemon meringue pie ever here (please don't ever change suppliers). But the last two meals in the evening I've had here are just not as good. I always have the chicken Milanese and it used to be massive, thin, tasty and so enjoyable. If you ever go here have the ribs!! them and the pizzas are amazing and a good price a 10 inch margarita is only $12 !!!! The ribs have a beautiful sauce and taste better than most high end restaurants that sell the same thing. My husband however had a pasta that was decent . But my two kids had beautifully cooked pizza (margarita & Amore ). I had a slice and it was beautiful. I genuinely think that the bad reviews have only had a once of experience. I went to this restaurant last night, was fairly quiet probably because it is the wrong location. But I had the best and lightest spaghetti I have ever had. I had the spaghetti con broccoli. My wife had a 10 inch meat lovers. We truly thought that this was a great restaurant, a lot better food than IL ciao anyway. So don't know why more people weren't in here. Ordered Lasagne, it was swimming in water and cold in middle, when sent back the waitress mentioned it had been heated for 5 minutes (obviously microwaved), we will heat it for longer. We declined offer, no alternative was offered nor money back until we asked. Must be new owner or management as this used to be a fabulous restaurant.
They don't do the delicious pastas anymore, so I ordered the lasagna and nearly chocked on the cheese a few times. Chips where covered in rosemary a little too much, and the panin's where average and over cheese filled as well, bring back the old chef! The food is their down fall. Coffee was nice though and service with a smile.
I was not sure what to expect and I wasn't disappointed. My lovely ladies enjoyed it as well. The food was excellent, prices reasonable and the service was good. I find it hard sometimes to please everyone when I am finding places to go, but this ticks all the boxes.

I used to go there all the time whether it was for coffee and cake, dinner or take-away dinner. Then it changed ownership and lost the great chef and the dedicated staff. Not going there anymore at all as the food is way to expensive when it is so mediocre.
Went today and the food was cold and tasteless. Used to be a fantastic restaurant - really disappointed. Waste of money !!!
