J Kitchen Korean & Japanese Restaurant

My wife and I prefer Asian cuisine when we go out to eat, and Korean food is a fav. I was pleasantly surprised to find this small, unassuming restaurant across from the Best Western where we were staying. We were so impressed after we ate here on the night before we left on holidays that we returned the night we came back a week later. All of our dishes were freshly prepared, delicious and very reasonably priced for generous portions. They offer sushi, tempuras, donburis, and udons, with a Korean twist at times. It was my mother's birthday and she wanted sushi. Instead of going to our usual spot in town, we decided to try J's for her 75th birthday because it was close to home and we wanted something new. This place was a hidden gem! It was incredibly clean, the service was excellent, and the food was delicious. We tried the Beef Bulgogi, Red Dragon roll, Frozen roll, Chicken Kara-age, edamame, pork gyoza, and tempura prawns. Everything was fantastic from start to finish and our entire family was pleasantly surprised. J's is now our new favorite Japanese restaurant and it's only a 10-minute drive from my parents' home. My boyfriend and I were looking for a place to eat as we live in Sidney and were tired of the usual. We decided to give this place a shot and were pleasantly surprised at how fresh and delicious the food was. We have since been three times within a week and a half. The tempura prawns are incredible..everything comes out steaming hot and quickly. The teriyaki chicken is loaded with fresh vegetables and fresh flavourful chicken, very tender. You will not regret anything you order:) Enjoy

A fabulous little place with so many delicious dishes we can never choose and end up with a feast (that seems to cost less than the majority of restaurants in sidney.) Love the atmosphere and the staff are always incredibly friendly and attentive. Service is quick but not rushed! Would recommend to anyone. Reserva una mesa ahora

I love their Bento boxes and the service is always top-notch - they are consistently courteous and friendly. Make sure to tip them well because they deserve it! It's a fantastic spot for a quick and tasty meal, with fresh ingredients always being used.

Stopped by for take out for kids. I was suggested to try the sweet potato glass noodles. They didn't disappoint! Kids loved it and had no idea it was sweet potato. Quick service, great food and very affordable. Will return in future when in the area!

Great food and good value. Bento boxes are amazing value! Warm sake is a nice add on. The tempura prawns are a favourite appy. Service is good. We like to eat in but many take out. Good parking in strip mall.

Visited with three others on a Sunday evening. All orders excellent - started with veg tempura; main courses well spiced and tasty. Good service. Will be there again.

We've come here several times and they always provide great service and a diverse menu. Everything I've had there is very good. Prices are affordable as well.
