After a lengthy wait, half of our table received their food, while the other half waited for an additional 30 minutes without any meals. To make matters worse, I didn't even receive what I ordered, and everything that was supposed to be hot arrived cold. They should have paused taking new customers until they could manage the existing ones better. Our meals took over an hour, and we didn’t receive any beverage refills during that time. This experience was truly frustrating. We had considered giving Jabbers another chance, but given the decline in service and food quality, this is likely our last attempt.
I waited and sat down, and it was nice that we were greeted with a hello, but that was the extent of the interaction for about 15 minutes. No one brought us menus or took our drink orders—nothing at all. Normally, I wouldn't leave a negative review, but I stopped coming here a few years ago because of a similar experience. The server who attended to other tables didn't even notice we were there the entire time we were waiting. It seems that their service hasn't improved at all.
The place is a good ole place to have lunch. Clean, polite customer waitress, prices good for the order, was told the menu was under revision that prices changed, ordered a Reuben sandwich , no sides that's extra. When sandwich arrived it wasnt a Reuben. Showed waitress what one looks like but was told this is how they make them. Ok wont order that again. Its seemed waitress was by herself running floor and bar. Alot for one person. All in all a quaint place but needs work.
Very nice local place. Hubby had the grilled pork chops with rice pilaf, hush puppies and a bonus order of fried okra. The pork chops were juicy and he enjoyed the okra and hush puppies (basically corn bread balls). The rice was pretty plain. I had the steak fajitas and really enjoyed them. As we left we noticed there was a whole section of seating outdoors, which would have been nice on a balmy night like tonight. They were busy but attentive. We would definitely return. We go to Jabbers just about weekly. We sit at the bar get great service from all the lady bartenders. This time we tried the tortellini sausage soup, fabulous. I was surprised how good the shrimp was. I asked for old bay they gave me a little container full. My partner adores the meatloaf dinner. He once had the special's stuffed peppers he said were delicious. I've enjoyed every special's soup I've ever tried. The beer ? is always cold.
The was my family?s first time at Jabbers ? and we were thoroughly impressed. My wife already wants to go back! The NY Sirloin was tremendous, as was the taco salad. The prices are good, it?s clean, and definitely has a cozy family-type feel. We even took advantage of happy hour. Easy five-star rating!
Friendly and mostly attentive staff, but during the lunch break there were only two people to cover both the restaurant and the bar. Quality of food needs work. Burning the toast of a sandwich does not say much for the kitchen skill. Basic menu with price adjustment. Not bad, but not good.
