While traveling from southern Ireland to northern Ireland, we decided to stop for lunch in Belcoo. The menu outside of Jack's restaurant looked promising with its variety of options. However, upon ordering, my colleague and I were disappointed. I ordered a triple club sandwich with chips, but the chips were overcooked and looked like they had been fried multiple times. My colleague's burger and chips also left much to be desired. The sandwich was filled with fatty bacon and was not presented well. We paid 23 pounds for a subpar meal and two drinks. Needless to say, we will not be returning to Jack's.
Visited the bar with intention of having dinner but was disappointed to find at this time only served food until 5pm but prob due to off season. However a friendly well stocked bar and nothing was too much trouble despite the awkwardness of us wishing to sample variety of gins on offer in bar. We returned both nights as we stayed at custom house hotel. it was ideally situated being only a few doors down and much more welcoming than bar at hotel. Bar had pool table, sports on TV and modern music jutebox. Definitely would be back to this bar.
Very hungry so had starter and main course. The veg soup was lovely and wedges minus cheese very tasty. Main course arrived well before starter was finished and we are fast eaters! The batter on the chicken in the burger was very over cooked and was almost black but tasted ok. The wrap.had the slightest lint of chili in a couple of bites only, so rather bland. The chips were perfect golden brown, not even slightly greasy and fully potato inside. All the staff are warm and friendly, could not ask for better. Everywhere is clean and neat.
I'm sorry I didn't take photographs as the food was nicely presented. The soup was lovely and thick with warm wheaten bread. The wedges bacon (don't like cheese) were perfect. The Chicken filet burgers and sweet potatoes were yum and perfectly cooked. All servings are a good size. Good value for money. Everywhere in the bar and restrooms were clean neat. I recently did the Cuilcagh 'stairway to heaven ' walk with my running club, Bolt. We called into Jack 's on our way home for lunch and were very happy with the service and quality of food. The staff were very friendly and managed very well under the pressure of a coach load of walkers along with all of their regulars. The food was served as quickly as possible without compromise on quality. I would recommend here for pub grub and a few drinks.
Stopped here for lunch just before crossing the border into the south of Ireland. We were seated quickly and given menus by a very pleasant waitress. Two of us had soup and toasted sandwiches and two toasted sandwiches and chips. We all enjoyed our food and would definitely return when next in the area.
We called in for a quick bite to eat but unfortunately the kitchen had already closed. However, the staff were fantastic and offered us a meal anyway! They quickly threw together delicious chicken goujons and chips, washed down with a couple of pints. Lovely wee bar, with plenty of atmosphere too.
I visited Jack's on a Saturday afternoon. My husband watched sports while I relaxed by the roaring open fire with a beer and a book. The atmosphere was very friendly and cozy. Although we didn't eat here, we saw food coming from the kitchen that smelled delicious. Reserva una mesa ahora
