We attended a funeral that was in the neighborhood of this restaurant location. After the services, we researched TA to see what four star plus rated restaurants were nearby. This one came up. At 1:00 in the afternoon, nine of us headed over and dined at this location. It is cafeteria style where you order first and then sit down. There was available seating-we put two tables together. I ordered the two meats and two sides plate. Brisket, and smoked Turkey with baked beans and apples. You get a choice of cornbread or toast. It is plenty of food. I come from Washington DC area. This is hands down best pulled pork, corn bread, brisket combo ever. Pulled pork tastes like it was slow smoked for like 16 hours. Brisket was so soft and could've been eaten by a toothless person. The cornbread was thick cut and a white-ish color, so I thought it was the bread. But it was soooo good. And not overpoweringly sweet. The price for a 2 meat plate was $24. But the portion sizes were HUGE!!!! Could easily be enough for two people. I got the cream of corn, and mac and cheese too. If you walk down Broadway, stop in, Jack!
This is the best bbq in Nashville. My favorite is the pork! Can we please mention the mashed potatoes, super creamy and buttery! If you go inside they have a hot bar with the gravy and all the different sauces. the slaw here is super light and refreshing not heavy/mayo based to where it's weighing your sandwich down. Idk why people insist on talking about these other places in nash when this is the true winner. There is zero comparison. Saying edleys/peg leg porker or anywhere else is close would be an absolute insult to jacks.
Recently stopped for lunch. More often than I worked on the north side of the city. It was much better a few years ago. Had a brisket plate with two sides. While the sides were acceptable, the brisket was dry and not warm enough. In addition, while I understand inflation, a lunch plate with two sides and a drink for $30 is a joke. I'm not coming back. Much better choices out there. Good luck in the future. I'm sorry this landmark goes down fast.

I am definitely a Jack 's fan, don 't get me wrong, but the turnip greens and the mac 'n cheese...NO! Just take these off the menu. How can you have a southern bbq restaurant with bitter, undercooked,unseasoned turnip greens (a southern staple) and watery, bland macaroni (with watery cheese sauce) ? You all charge enough to not cut corners. I should not be able to get better sides Barbie Cutie! Period-T

Could be past his tip. Just to say the brisket cut was not the best and the turkey was dry. Cheese sauce for Mac and cheese seemed from powder mix. It won't go back. $22 for a meal.
Your food is amazing. I recommend the bride. All the cakes are delicious and the apple cbbler die. Very friendly, and the GM is personal and very sweet. Food: 5/5

Got the ribs meal with mashed potato Mac cheese was delicious.The bread was tasty too added apples So good. I do recommend this place Will definitely be back
Love the ribs fall of the bone every single time! Always a quick time at the counter getting your food then it's on and pooping!
