I am a disabled black female Air Force veteran and was a first responder at the Pentagon during 9/11. I have resided in Scottsdale/Paradise Valley area for 3 years now and I have visited the Sanctuary Spa on many occasions and have dined at the Elements restaurant as well. I find both the restaurant and the spa to be quite calming and serene and have always felt welcomed as a single black female. When a Caucasian woman arrived and was immediately served, I called over a waiter who claimed he hadn't seen me. I found this hard to believe as I was the only black woman in the bar with a distinctive outfit. The waiter mentioned being distracted by personal issues, including his possible diagnosis of cancer, but I found it unfair that he had immediately served the woman next to me who had arrived after me. Views views views!!! If u're looking for a chic vibe restaurant bar with gorgeous views, u found it!!! Jade Bar is a gem! I've only had a couple of appetizers here, and I can't say that they were fabulous, as I ordered some pretty plain Jane stuff. The Housemade chips and onion dip, as well as the Vegetable crudite were ok. I wished the dips for both those appetizers had more flavor and kick to them, but, knowing that I ordered some pretty unflavorful dishes, I'll quit my whining. I wish I could provide a more detailed review, but I must say that the location of the restaurant is truly impressive. The drive to the restaurant itself is part of the overall experience. However, I was put off by the intimidating security guard at the front gate who questioned me upon arrival. I didn't feel comfortable being interrogated before even entering the restaurant, so I decided to turn around and leave. The restaurant had fantastic views, excellent service, delicious drinks, and great live music. Our server went above and beyond, even giving us a complimentary champagne toast for our anniversary. That was a nice gesture! However, we were not impressed with the food. The chicken quesadillas and Caesar salad we ordered as appetizers were very mediocre. I would return to this restaurant for everything else except the food.

The drinks at this restaurant are always amazing and the atmosphere is lively. The views are also beautiful. The vegetable crudite appetizer tasted like a fresh garden, especially with the citrus hummus. The wagyu smash burger was very thin but delicious. Shari, the bartender, is fantastic. Overall, the price per person is between $50 and $100. The food, service, and atmosphere all receive a rating of 5 out of 5.

Been there three times. Service has always been great. Drinks are excellent. Only had apps there, but were very good and large portions. It's not cheap, but the quality and service are exceptional. View of the mountain is great. Only complaint is that it gets loud when crowded. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

The sunset views in the evening are unmatched. The server was courteous and well-informed. The drinks, appetizers, entrees, and dessert were all fantastic.
