We ordered an early dinner with drinks, which was served on trays in our room. The JAG Caesar salad was a delightful surprise. While the broccoli in the broccoli salad could have used a bit more flavor, the other salads were well-dressed and intriguing. However, the greens in the house salad were slightly wilted. The pan-fried cod was outstanding—perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. My crab cake was also well-seasoned. We concluded our meal with the chocolate torte and cheesecake, both of which were excellent. Despite some minor criticisms, we would still rate this meal and the service an 8 out of 10.
I really enjoy the trendy and stylish vibe of this place! I've been several times, and I can definitely say that brunch is a more enjoyable experience than dinner. Today, I had the Moose Masala again, this time topped with two over-easy eggs. The dish would have been perfect, but unfortunately, the eggs were overcooked. Our server was wonderful, and the company was great. The only issue we had was with the uncomfortable chairs! They look nice and might suit a size 6 figure, but they're definitely not great for dining.
We had a wonderful experience at the hotel. The Exile restaurant on-site was fantastic for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The music memorabilia and the tunes playing throughout the property created a lovely atmosphere. It's only a short walk to the Water Street area, where you'll discover numerous tourist attractions, bars, shops, and restaurants by the harbor in downtown St. John's. We truly enjoyed our week-long stay.
