Jake's Cafe On 2nd Street

Walking inside this fine establishment it takes you back to 1950s. As soon as we sat down a waitress pours us up some fresh coffee. We order the Jake’s cafe scramblers with sausage egg cheese.Takes about 10 minutes from kitchen to our table. The first glance at our plates there is enough food to feed 3-4 people per plate. The quality of food was 5/5 stars.Presentation was 4/5 looked like a giant pile of cheese and hash browns underneath.The portion size was extremely generous for 1 person. I would of got something more simple since I ate 1/4 of the breakfast pile.We left with 2 leftover boxes.We were kindly told to have a wonderful day by the ladies.I loved the warm small town inviting feel...

Jake's always offers excellent food, but be cautious about arriving only an hour and fifteen minutes before closing as the staff may seem eager to wrap up for the night. With over 12 years of experience in the business, I understand the desire to go home, but I have never encountered rudeness towards customers. The staff usually greets customers kindly and informs them of the impending closing time so they can decide whether to stay or leave. If the food at Jake's was not consistently fantastic, I would not return. On this particular day, I had to restrain myself from voicing any complaints.

Love the decor. Huge portions of comfort food. Not gourmet but still perfect for a big meal. Long wait but worth it if you're not in a hurry. Second visit was fun! My amazing smily waitress chose my meal for me and it was perfect. Never had a Montecristo not battered and fried. It was delicious and not overfilling. Mountain of fries were a little soggy but hey, still good. Coffee flowed like rain and followed me in a to go cup. Now that's service. Hubby had eggs and chili, an interesting and filling combo worth trying. Monday is a nice time to avoid the crowds. Popular place.

I had high hopes for this breakfast spot based on the reviews, but I was let down. We tried the Jack's Scramble, which lacked flavor and presentation. The portion was big, but unappetizing. The orange juice didn't taste like orange juice at all, despite being labeled as "divine." Our waitress was friendly and took an item off the bill, but she didn't check on us after serving the food. great local café. faster friendly service and huge portions. simple house kitchen. I was satisfied with my iron benedict. the dame on the next table ordered a complicated special request for themselves (allergic likely) and they did not beat an eye just made them a great plate, they seemed very satisfied.

The portions at this restaurant are very generous for a good price. I ordered a double cheeseburger and my wife had a bacon and cheeseburger with mushrooms. We were so full that we ended up taking our fries home to eat later. We will definitely be returning.
