Jatoba - Reserva de mesa

Me and my friend went to Jatoba last Saturday evening. I was super excited to try this restaurant as I am from Toronto and visiting my old friend. I figured the reviews on google are good, its probably amazing. Well where do I begin? The shrimp, was undercooked and smelt weird. The waiter disappeared and basically did not return until the end of the meal. They sat us at the bar, where they were cooking the food, so from where we were sitting the view was terrible. We were disappointed so we told the manager about the situation and she offered us a free meal. However, the menu is ****, so we left and went to Makado. Good news was we did not have to pay for our meal.

First the patio isn't a real patio. It is located outside of the restaurant but is completed enclosed with air conditioning. It is very noisy, it was not possible to have a conversation. The dishes are really too expensive what they are, their quality and their quantity. At this price range, I was expecting a high-end service, when in fact, it was lower than average (ex. they spilled sauce on the table and they did not come close to cleaning it properly, when they pour wine, they do it too quickly and let the wine drip outside the glass, etc.) They don't know how to manage food allergies. Very disappointing.

Went there for a friends birthday. Had reservations for 9pm. Only got our table for 9:30pm. The birthday girl got the wrong meal when they realized half way through she was done. I ordered a 22$ BEEF TARTAR and got charged for a 90$ TATAKI i never ate! I specifically asked our waiter Marc if I could get some bread with my tartar he said sure no problem since the quantity was small. When I got the bill i was shocked ! He didn't want anything to do with me! All he did was send us shots to our table and that was it! Never will I put feet there again! worst service ever!

This was our first time dining at this restaurant. Our server was Charline, who took the time to explain the menu and provide recommendations that enhanced our dining experience. We were pleasantly surprised when the chef, Olivier Vignault, came out to greet us, a rare gesture that added to our enjoyment. The food was outstanding, with each dish beautifully presented and carefully explained. JATOBA RESTAURANT is definitely worth the high price tag. Thank you for a fantastic dining experience. fantastic meal to celebrate wedding anniversary. 3 staff congratulated us. Food was divine: we shared the sushi roll, the gyoza and the steak. All were perfect. Loved the serving dishes! perfect amount of food (although the black cod tempted us) would recommend and return.

Repas coûteux mais qui valait chaque dollars. Le Riz au canard est un délice pour les papilles. J'ai essayé plusieurs bons restaurants à Montréal et définitivement un des meilleurs. Belle ambiance sur la terrasse et service attentionné.Je le recommande sans hésitation

This restaurant has become our #1 in Montreal. We have eaten at alot of restaurants and by far this is our number 1. Food and Service outstanding!! Veggie dumplings: very good and light taste. Black Cod and the beef were just a culinary experience you must have.

Montreal has one of the highest restaurant counts per capita in North America. However, this particular restaurant treats their customers poorly, from the hostess to the waitresses and even the busboys. It is best to avoid this place at all costs. Reserva una mesa ahora

The service is inconsistent but the quality of the dishes is always excellent. However, coriander is almost everywhere! Warning to those who hate it.
