as we have often visited this again and ordered the seasonal menu. as a greeting from the kitchen there were three kinds of broth (full grain and grain bread, baguette) and two kinds of thun fish with green apple gel. once he was sushi-wise wrapped in a radish sheet with very pleasant sharpness; the second time in the sesame coat on avocado pine. both paintings of very good quality!The menu started with an autumnal leaf salad with lenses, **** breast and sworn hokkaidokürbis. the **** breast tender and wonderful pink fried. the salatdressing could have been something more original. otherwise divine. the following pumpkin apple ginger soup with curry was perfect from a very pleasant sharpness...

We visited on a Friday evening and were the only people in the restaurant for the first half an hour from 19:00. even then only two other tables were occupied for a total on 10 guests! Hardly seems worth the effort. The food was very good the only criticism i have is that the two menus did not appeal to me and to change options costs extra. My three companions chose the menus and i ate a-la-carte which to me seemed better value as the portions on the set menu were smaller (for the same dishes) and making the changes i wanted would considerably raised the cost.That said, everyone was pleased with both the choice and the quality. This restaurant has earned a Michelin Star and for good reason. The chef is a genius. I had the chefs menu with all the courses and wine pairings. The price is high, but worth every euro cent. The lobster bisque was amazing, the foie gras was amazing. The meal was...amazing. The presentation and beauty of the food is beyond compare. The atmosphere creates such a warmth you can't help but lose yourself in the restaurant. It is very personal and the chef comes to your table at the end of your meal to personally meet and thank you. we were already at the end of 2014 when the restaurant was fresh its 1. Excellent French cuisine with a German twist (by Johannes or “Jean”’) and excellent and friendly service.We opted for the Gourmet menu and accompanying wines. Every dish was excellent and the (very well priced) wines matched the dishes. Especially noteworthy were the (sea) fish dishes, which can be sometime an issue in the Hessen region. Also the “foie gras” was a highlight, it was perfectly cooked and served with a 2003 Spatlase.We love food and are continuously searching for new places to eat, and restaurant “Jean” is definitely one of the best places in Hessen. Wow, this restaurant was a lucky find, staying nearby at the Kempinski hotel, we decided to eat in picturesque Eltville, this is a traditional building with lots of character & charm, we went for dinner & had the seasonal menu, four courses, menu of the day, it was sensational, I understand the chef received a Michelin star this week, certainly well deserved from the meal we enjoyed ! and excellent value at 39 EUR each !Wines were also reasonable & large choice, as there should be in the Reingau.We look forward to returning !

Cuatro de nosotros tuvimos una gran comida aquí justo cuando se levantaban las restricciones del virus Corona. El restaurante no estaba lleno para nuestra cena y disfrutamos totalmente de cada bocado y sorbo de nuestra comida de casi cuatro horas. La presentación de la comida fue hermosa. I went to this well known restaurant with local friends of the Rheingau. This is certainly one of the best restaurants in Eltville and the region. Their 3 or 4 course menu is very nice and reasonably priced! The extensive wine list, both local and international, provides something for everybody! Service is friendly and efficient! Just had an amzing meal here with my boyfriend. Staff are friendly, great family vibe around the whole place. As a chef myself i couldnt rate the food more highly. Delicious! Don't miss an oppurtunity to eat here!

High quality, especially amuce and starters were amazingly fine prepared and served. Nice staff, good help with the wines that matched really fine. Moderate prize, good value for the money.
