We showed up without reservation on a Thursday evening, and we are surprised how busy Jefe was, and yet we were immediately sitting in a stand, with minimal waiting for service. Our server was wonderful and gave us some great tips on the drinks. You have a delicious pineapple poblano vodka her herself, and it was not disappointed! The horchata colada was also quite delicious. The food was great, we had questions fundido for starters, and then I had the Barbacoa Burrito, which was both delicious and satisfying. The atmosphere was really nice energetic, but not sistering, and the decoration and feeling of the place was really comfortable and welcoming. We spent about $100ish all up for a common starter, two nets, four cocktails, and tip is pretty good. Thank you. Jefe, for birthday dinner!
I love their unique brunch products! I'm always torn whether the razor claws that are delicious or the chilaquiles with the Barbacoa beef! Both options are two of my favorites! The sweet cream pancakes are also great and I love a few bites with my hearty breakfast! The cocktails and coffee are also good! Sitting on the terrace is wonderful and I love that my pup is welcome. The service is consistently perfect!
Had high hopes based on the reviews, the menu and the ambiance. The best item we ordered was the chips and salsa. Their corn tortilla is horrible. I took one bite and ended up just eating the inside of my tacos. It was thick and tough. Most of the dishes weren't tasty. Service was good in the beginning and then it wasn't. Waited awhile and asked twice for a refill of water. We wouldn't go back.
Beautiful decor and trendy atmosphere . Tasty food and a great place for friends or a date or even a family outing. Might be appropriate to include a more ethnic and/or a Mexican /Mexican-American staff members in front of house for some authenticity. Will be back next time I am in the area.
