Joe is friendly, knowledgeable, compassionate, and always competent, not just with us but with all customers. While we wait in the customer service line, we often hear customers discussing their various needs with Joe, whether it’s help finding a product or sharing personal challenges. He engages with us by calling us by our names, asking if we’ve found everything we need, offering assistance, and even inquiring about our recent hospital visits. We recently noticed Joe has been temporarily moved to the Melrose Park location, and his absence in River Forest has been very noticeable. We sincerely hope he doesn't get sent away again; Joe Hercog is truly the heart of the River Forest Jewel-Osco...
On my latest visit, I encountered further unprofessionalism from the customer service manager, who had some inappropriate comments when I asked for assistance. I decided enough was enough and planned to reach out for support. Even the person at the checkout counter showed me more respect than the manager, who appeared to be inebriated and refused to let me pay for my groceries, claiming I hadn't already. This left me humiliated in front of other customers. I can’t help but feel that this treatment is personal, especially since I spend my own hard-earned money there. The unprofessionalism of the staff is unacceptable and needs to be addressed. I will be contacting the corporate office first...
I strongly advise against shopping at Jewels. The staff seems untrained and more focused on running around than assisting customers. I simply wanted to pick up a cake and a few balloons. Not only was the cake I ordered sold to someone else, but my balloons were also not ready for pickup. To make matters worse, when I contacted management, all they could say was, "I'm sorry," which was unsatisfactory.
REally?? Masks for employees again. What a joke. Covid is nothing different than the FLU and we don't mask for that. But go ahead and drive your employees away. Good thinking. Masks PROTECT NO ONE!! They are proven useless if you are healthy!Try using REAL SCIENCE and not the lying CDC garbage.Poor Jewel employees....you are stuck with silly management.
