Jibarito Time Inc, Chicago Style Plantain Sandwiches

As much as I would like to give this place five stars, I have to be honest. The food was too salty and I'm 100% Puerto Rican. I'm sorry Mi Gente but I prefer Jibaritos on Harlem and Coco Loco's Mexican food next door to you guys. You guys at Jibarito Time have great potential just don't pour ALLLLLL the Adobo please and thank you. Also please put your Puerto Rican flag back up, why did you guys take it down? Why did you guys remove the dominos? Be Puerto Rican and be proud, bring the flag back!! Jibaritos on Harlem has better food and a BIG BEAUTIFUL Puerto Rican flag. I’ve been to Jibarito Time once during Covid and wanted to give it a 2nd try. We had the grilled steak jibarito, arroz con gandules, Maduros, parcha drinks, and the lechon jibarito.Steak jibarito: wasn’t flavorful enough, not enough meat in the sandwich, wasn’t served hot (food was brought out TOO quickly), tostone wasn’t crispy, rice was salty and didn’t have much gandules in it.Maduros: were sweet and soft, but over cookedParcha (passion fruit): tasted watered downLechon jibarito: serving size was better than the steak, but the tostone wasn’t crispy either, and it wasn’t served hot.There wasn’t anyone else dining in at the time, but the tables were left dirty.Concerns were brought up to th...

Was working in the area and was EXCITED to see a Jibarito spot close BUT what a disappointment.. I’m 100% boricua to the bone and was so disappointed in the food. i shoulda have read the reviews but i always wanna give my people a chance.. rice EXTREMELY salty, $3.75 for a kola champagne and 20 for a jibarrito that had barely 1 piece of bistec inside. i had more platano than meat.. That’s a shame.. i wish i could give a better review but unfortunately would be my last time

My steak sandwich had one piece of meat in it. It was flavorless. Fries were disappointing. Nothing was flavorful. I also got a drink and paid $22. I rather just spend money on a extra large pizza with 3 toppings than get a small sandwich that didn’t fill me up. Reserva una mesa ahora

First time here, definitely will be returning. The food was very flavorful, staff took time to explain the menu, and very nice atmosphere. Such a great experience. Carmelo was awesome!!

Our jibaritos weren’t hot and they didn’t have enough meat. 1 small thin slice and the rice was salty. I’d rather wait to go to Jibaritos y Mas.
