This is a can’t miss spot in New Orleans! All the staff knew how to take care of their customers, especially Diesel. Walk in and ask for her. it’s a small quaint spot stain glass windows with tables and chairs just outside if you can’t find a seat inside. Now let’s talk about the food . Damn! Damn! Damn! You could close your eyes and point to something on the menu and it doesn’t matter what it is…it’s going to be good. Yeah, I know it’s biscuits and gravy in the picture! But with stuff like Crabcake Eggs Benedict and Crawfish Etouffee Eggs Benedict there’s something for everybody and your best believe I finished my plate just so I could eat the Crabcake Eggs Benedict my wife didn’t finish. We walked past this place the night before we were leaving and decided to come eat breakfast before we left. Horrible customer service, Diesel, I believe was our waitress. The menu was better on paper than the actual food that was served. The whole vibe of the place was a 0/10. The whole family was absolutely disappointed with the over all experience. This hands down has been one of the worst restaurants I’ve been too! Would most definitely not recommend breakfast or the morning staff. The lunch vibe may be better, but we definitely will not come back. Even if your food sucks and you have a good server it’s worth trying again. But for both to be a horrible experience that’s just sad!
I stopped in for a quick cheesy shrimp omelette. I don’t know what I was expecting, but I really thought it would have more flavor. It tasted exactly like it sounds. I just thought there would be some New Orleans zip to it for some reason. The waitress was really cool. They accidentally sent my food to a different customer, so it took a while longer, but that didn’t matter. I ate out on the street. That was cool. The next time I’m in New Orleans, I will give this place a second try and try something else.
Jimmy J's Cafe is a small intimate cafe nestled in the heart of the French Quarters. The wait time to get a table was only about 15 minutes. They do however make you wait across the street until your table is ready for some reason. I ordered the shrimp po boy and it was delicious. My other two friends both ordered the shrimp and grits and they had mixed feelings on how it tasted. One said it was just okay while the other friend said they really liked it a lot. I ordered pancakes and chicken. The chicken was very bland. The food was hot but lacked and seasoning to give it a really good taste. The shrimp and grits were bland also. Had to add some salt and pepper to get some flavor. I would try something else but not this place again. They have no substitutions for meat. Like turkey bacon or other options.
This place has an amazing atmosphere and vibe. The food is absolutely delicious! We ordered the Monty Christo, Steak bowl, and Cochon burrito on their recommendation. Everything was full of flavor and made with homemade ingredients. The staff was friendly, funny, and very welcoming! I definitely give this place 10 out 10!!!
Fantastic food! Such a fun place. Just off of Canal Street in the French Quarter. We had the seafood omelette which was so delicious. Garlic, cheesy, and fresh seafood. The Banana Fosters French toast was very good. The biscuits and gravy was amazing! Not like any gravy I’ve had before. Wow!
