Joe's Kansas City -b-que

This review ain't gonna be popular and I couldn't have imagined writing it a year or two ago but.........I think I've spent my last money at Joe's KC. Went there for an anniversary dinner before the movie tonight and was mostly disappointed in my meal. I ordered the two meat meal with brisket and sausage and wife ordered just the brisket dinner. The only flavor I could taste in the cole slaw was the purple cabbage. The dressing was there but didn't contribute anything to the flavor profile. (I know....I know.......nobody goes to a BBQ restaurant for coleslaw. I'm only including it here because it was part of my meal that I took issue with. The brisket had almost no color beyond a kinda washe...

This is a similar experience to Mission BBQ out east without the US Armed Forces theme. Standard coleslaw is kind of bland, dry and a bit spicy. The sliced beef seems like the same thing I get at Arby's . The dirty rice was okay, a bit dry, very very spicy, but Bojangles is better. The sweet tea is above average .

Slab of Ribs were tough, no service at table, cold adult beverage $5.00 for a beer. Four beers and you could have bought a case. First time at Joe's, won't try them again. stand in line for 20 mins and then another 10 mins to get another beverage. Not impressed at all. Reserva una mesa ahora

We ordered a couple of the Beef Brisket sandwiches, (one Jumbo with red beans rice, one regular with dirty rice) and half rack of ribs. Come check the menu out when you are in town, you may find a new favorite entre for you and your family!
