Joey's Restaurants

I had the great pleasure to drop by happen stance into Joey's Restaurant in North Bay just last week, and was more than pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and the most friendly professional personal service. Within five minutes of sitting, a great family group from Prince Edward Island came in to order-out and exclaimed to me that this was the best seafood in North Bay! They were right. My Halibut feast was literally the best seafood dinner that I have enjoyed in a very long time... and with a side of the traditional British peas to boot!...something I have never seen served in Canada before!....Blimey! the family came over from London, UK. Went here the other day for some fish and chips, and decided to take it to go. Got home and had the three piece dinner, nice size pieces of fish. Was impressed so far and then ate one piece of fish and that was it. It was really greasy you can see the oil coming out of it. So ate the fries and coleslaw and wrapped the fish in paper towel to drain the grease from the fish...heated up the next day for lunch and still had a lot of grease in it.....

At least two pieces of fish had hair cooked right into the batter. This was a takeout order, so this meant a return trip to the restaurant to request a refund. The restaurant manager unfortunately began to berate the server for not wearing a hair net… I had to ask her to simply deal with my situation rather than to chastise her staff customer presence.

A casual, quiet place to get good fish and chips. Nice and crispy. The coleslaw is really good, but the fries could be cooked a little longer (crispier); they're very soft in the middle. We've only been once, but hope to go again soon.

We had take out fish and chips, calamari and hamburgers. The food was cold and tasted terrible. The takeout service was horrible would definitely not recommend and would never go back.
