We dined at John Brown's Grill in Charlottetown one evening as a couple. The night before, we had eaten at a pub with an Irish Celtic group entertaining, and we were somewhat hyped for more of the same. We read that John Brown's had street-side tables, and that there was entertainment in the adjacent Victoria Row "mall". We were hoping for more of the Irish-theme music, but were disappointed, in that the entertainment was some sort of jazz band, which does not appeal, even remotely, to either myself or my husband. In fact, we find it extremely annoying, to be perfectly honest!!Having said that, when we arrived at the restaurant and heard the entertainment, we opted for an inside-the-restaurant table, so that we wouldn't be forced to listen all the way through our meal!Service was good--we both ordered their steak sandwich, which came with a delicious side-salad, fried onion-rings, and garlic bread. It really was very tasty, and we enjoyed it, sans jazz band!!

We had a large group but they do not make reservations. Outdoors full so we ate inside which is very nicely done. Great service. Chowder delightful. Hamburger rated the best by our hamburg expert. Chicken club a little disappointment....thought it hot but very cold however staff we quick to offer to make it again and did not charge for meal. Fish and chips excellent. Wish it would say on the menu when accompanied by cole slaw as I hate cole slaw and it soaks everything on plate so I was the only one in the group of about 12 that did not enjoy my meal.

We were promptly seated on the patio and our server Emily was amazing. We shared the fish n chips and she had the kitchen split the plate. The fish was meaty and had just the right amount of batter. The Caesar salad was probably one of the best I've ever had. We also shared the tacos which were so fresh and tasty. Overall great location with tasty food and impeccable service.

Supper was fish tacos and may be the best caesar salad. If you login n tonic try their take on it..pepper cue with Hendricks . The sangria's are great too. Beers are craft pilseners' etc.. Forget their Apple pie...they forgot to use Crisco!????
