This was disappointing. My wife is from NJ, and we were looking forward to trying an Italian place that called itself NY style. When we saw Johnny Tomatoes nearby, we got auper excited, but as soon as we tasted the food, the excitement went away. The pasta was bleh, the pizza was bleh, the garlic knots were ok, the pork roll burger was auper salty and tastless otherwise, the jalapeño poppers had american cheese inside of them and ultra salty instead of mozarella or some better cheese for this, the chicken parm was soggy; everything was mediocre to bad. We thought the pepperoni pizza was bland, things were overpriced for the quality (nothing like up North pizza.... , and the cashier was incredibly rude! She got a nasty attitude when we changed our minds to dine-in, although it was nearly empty, and told us to make sure that our trash, which was only what they gave us, didn't end up in their trash can?... We left and were very disappointed.
I've been looking for a good pizza since I moved to the Charlotte area and have been sorely disappointed again and again. Happy to have finally stumbled across Johnny Tomatoes it's quickly become my favorite because it's the best pizza around, no question.
The pizza is always delicious, and the staff are incredibly friendly! As for kid-friendliness, the employee who delivered our pizza kindly offered to cut my toddler's slice, which was really helpful and thoughtful.

Great prices and great pizza by the slice! Love having such a good pizza place so close by. One of the staff members even offered to cut up my toddler’s pizza for him! So nice!

Food was really good. The atmosphere was pretty nice as well. The lady that took our order and brought the food was really nice. Will recommend to anymore on the area.
This is the best New York-style pizza I've had since arriving in Charlotte. I will definitely return!
