I had been intrigued by this place for some time now but just had the opportunity to try them recently. I ordered food to go and although tasty, it didn't sit well with me. I had an upset stomach for over 24 hours. The place is clean, very friendly service md reasonable pricing. I did order something that I would not usually order therefore I would possibly try them again for their fried chicken since it appears to be their specialty. Additionally I visited late in the evening and perhaps the food was sitting all day long? Nonetheless, I like to support small businesses so I would try them again in the future.
Unfortunately the food and service has gone down hill in the last few years. I was hoping it would stay consistent especially since there is no other Dominican restaurant near by. Just because it’s in Bergen County doesn’t mean you should over charge for a small container of white rice and beans which only cost a few bucks to make. I can accept ok food especially when you need a last minute meal but when you over charge for it, then it’s completely unacceptable.
Their chicken is awesome and delicious when they have it. at least 50% of the time you go there to pick up chicken from John’s fried chicken they don’t have any chicken available. they tell you to come back in 1.5 hours. I really don’t understand how a chicken restaurant runs out of chicken all the time happened again tonight and again two weeks ago.
I ordered food from the website and paid for two dishes, but when I arrived, I only received one. When I asked for the second dish, the server claimed I had only paid for one. She refused to give me my food, stating that I needed to pay the price she charges in-store, not the online price. I was very disappointed with the service.

Great service everytime I’ve gone. Love the food. My favorite is the Chaufa rice which is so good and pictured below. The shrimp salad is perfect with white rice and some fried plantains so tasty. I’ve also tried their mangu and it really hits the spot on a Sunday morning:)Parking: There is plenty of parking.
This is an absolutely wonderful place. Definitely try it here I tried a little bit of everything and it was worth it. The staff is extremely friendly and they?re always willing to help you. Give this new restaurant to try and you?ll definitely never turn back. Especially if you want non-greasy fried chicken
The lunch food here is really good, but the downside is that they tend to overcharge. It can be quite pricey for just lunch. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re looking to treat yourself to something a bit better than typical fast food.
I absolutely love this place! The service is fantastic. I ordered the oxtails with pea rice, and it was simply amazing—truly the best! However, the empanadas didn’t quite meet my expectations.
