This was our first time here and we definitely will be back. I had googled to look for a restaurant near the Prudential Center for a pre-concert dinner. I am so happy I chose Joia! There was easy parking and it was only about 7 minutes away from Prudential Center. The menu was expansive, our meals were absolutely delicious and plentiful and prices very reasonable. I had a glass of Sangria which was also delicious! Our waiter, Nasser, was outstanding! He was attentive without being overbearing, and very friendly and courteous. We had enough leftover, which we took to go, for another meal at home. You will not be disappointed!
This was out first time going to a Portuguese restaurant. Our waiter was excellent although there was a little language barrier. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms.We asked what they were stuffed with and we were told crab. We didn’t taste crab. It was all breading and dry. The breading just crumbled. Our meals were good. I had the short ribs. I had never been asked how I would like them cooked. Being a little confused about, I said rare because that’s how I get my steak. After he left I thought maybe I should have said medium well
Joia has always been a great place to eat. The food is very flavorful and delicious and the staff, especially Nasser have always been very welcoming and friendly. My 80 year old dad always wants to come here because he says it’s like going to a family’s house : highly recommend joia!
This was my 2nd visit and I will definitely be back. The food and service are excellent! It is a great stop if you are going to an event at either the Prudential Center or NJPAC. Also, free parking just a few steps away.

The restaurant is so nice. Service warm and enjoyed the ambiance of this gem of a spot! Free parking a plus. Great to have a great place in my neighborhood to have good food experience!
Outstanding once again ! Joia is our go-to restaurant for great Portuguese food. Looking forward to dining there again very soon !
Really good food and excellent service! They serve fresh fish and the flavors are really amazing!
Enjoyed dinner and service Great place. Enjoyed the appetizers of calamari and shrimp cakes.
