We heard great things about Jonathan’s and we wanted to check it out. We were in more casual attire so we weren’t sure whether to go in or not, but they were so welcoming. I was even fortunate enough to meet the owner, who revealed that many of the decor and furnishings are one-of-a-kind pieces—truly a visual treat. What a gem in the Back Mountain! My husband and I frequently go to Jonathan’s and have never been disappointed. The food and drinks are outstanding, and they have the most delicious specials. The tuna tartare special is by far the best around (I often get a double order as my entrée)! The staff are always so kind and accommodating and take the time to make sure everyone is enjoying their dining experience. The atmosphere is very comfortable and inviting. We decided to try this place since the pub we originally planned to visit was closed. After looking at the downstairs menu, we realized we weren't in the mood for anything too elaborate. So, we made our way up to the deck, where the menu featured a more classic pub selection. The view of the lake was absolutely stunning! My wife ordered a delicious burger that was fresh and cooked to perfection, while I opted for fried clams that reminded me of the beloved Howard Johnson's. I went with a friend to have dinner and I ordered the Bang Bang Chicken. It was a bang bang all right that it put me in the hospital. The food was obviously contaminated. Never again will I go their to eat and if you are a person of color I suggest you don’t go either. And yes I do have the correct restaurant 31 lakeside drive and please don’t delete this review like you have done in the past with other bad reviews. Had the pork chop for dinner and we were very disappointed because it had a very strong charbroiled flavor which over power the chop flavor, but was very juicy and tender. I would not order it again.
