We attended our niece's wedding at this venue on November 24th. It was easily accessible by train or bus after the ceremony at Hackney Town Hall. The main restaurant area had well laid out tables and the food was excellent. The waiting staff were polite and attentive. In the evening, guests moved to another room for the disco, which was connected to the main room. However, the music from the disco room was relayed back into the restaurant room through speakers, making it difficult to have a conversation. I love Jones and sons, sadly recently upon my last visit a few months ago service had slipped and I was apprehensive about returning. I'm so glad I gave them another chance today (a Saturday afternoon) because I had a great time! We were greeted with a smile and lots of fun positive energy by China. We even requested to move seats to a more private area and this was done with no hesitation or issues. Our waitress Rahima was lovely! So attentive, patient and extremely efficient. Nothing was too much for her and service was with a warm smile for our entire sitting. I went with family and close friend for a celebration, the food was well below the expectations, I order gnocchi and honestly I still don’t know what on the earth happened to the chef, in Italy he would have get a criminal record. The very disappointing moment came when the bill arrived, 472.84 pounds including the optional service of 52.54 pounds for witch I wasn’t given the option by the waiter. I paid the bill and soon after my wife ordered an espresso. It was terrible by the way but that’s not the point, they presented another bill for the coffee, probably 3 pounds this after I paid 472.84 …. shameful . They not only need to learn how to cook but also and most important to treat the cust...
If you enjoy dining in a faux-industrial setting with exposed pipework and wiring reminiscent of early-90s Soho, New York, then Jones and Sons is the perfect spot for you. While some may find the atmosphere a bit contrived, the attentive staff and hot food make up for it. We tried the Sunday roast, which was standard fare except for the standout Yorkshire pudding – large, doughy, and more like a savory muffin than the usual pillow of carbs. A friend organised a Sunday lunch here and I’m glad I didn’t read previous reviews before going… it’s almost like it’s a different venue from all the negative reviews!! I’m fairly hard to impress… but the service and food were both great! The rib eye beef Sunday lunch was great. The drinks cocktails were very good and service was efficient, friendly and nothing was too much to ask. Would return in a heartbeat!
Jones and Sons Sunday Brunch was so good the food choice are delicious and the portions very decent we had prosecco with our brunch the drinks flowed once the bottle was finished replaced straight away staff very friendly and really helpful re choices It was so good came back with my cousin a couple weeks later great place in Hackney to eat.
Fabulous Sunday lunch with a group of friends. The food squid, followed by roast pork) was superb served and the staff were very accommodating. The only slight downer was that the courtyard was a bit hot under a perspex roof, but there was air conditioning and space inside so we only have ourselves to blame.
