Jorbel. Bar Restaurant

Outside table (terrassa). Standard drinks fare: bottled juice, coffee cortado, coffee americano. Has wifi. Locals' place, but an attempt to communicate in my poor Catalan was replied to in Español. Had to go into the bar to pay as the waitress was too busy sitting down talking to her friends. I pretended to watch the TV, but kept an eye on the barista to whom I gave a 10€ note. She pulled out a 5€, then put it back in the till; she clearly thought she could get away with short-changing me. The bill should have been 4.70€. Instead I was charged 9.70€. Of course no receipt (tiquet) was issued: a sign that it was a genuine attempt at a rip-off. The woman did give the correct change when challenged, however.

Been living abroad for a while but Jorbel is always a must go when back to my hometown. David is an authentic character always giving a good welcome to everyone with a smile on. If you go at noonyou will enjoy a great sunshine with some budget drinks and free cold tapas if you ask for!

Stumbled accross this local neighbourhood bar on the day we arrived in Gerona.Nice terrace outside in the sun.Very good menu of the day three courses 10 Euro including wine and water .Nothing fancy but good.Staff friendly and attentive nice ambiance what's not to like.

Needed a refreshment stop, and an outside table in the sun, 2 beers, 2 bikini (toastied sandwiches), olives and bread cost 9 euros. Nothing fancy, but obviously popular with locals.

Very friendly service and nice cold drinks on an extremely hot day. We sat inside due to the heat as it is air conditioned.
