After living in this country for 21 years, I have to say that this Mexican-inspired restaurant is the worst I've been to. The food is terrible! I thought Asadero Restaurante in Rochelle Park was bad, but this one is even worse. Their margaritas are pre-made and served from a jar that was filled up beforehand. Every time the bartender grabs a margarita glass from above their head, they stick their dirty fingers inside of it. My wife was very disappointed. The burrito looks more like an enchilada, and the chicken Cajun is just plain nasty. I don't understand why this place is always so busy.
I had a fantastic time at Jose Tejas. The restaurant has ample parking, lovely outdoor seating, and a spacious indoor dining area. Our cocktails were expertly made and just the right amount of strong. The complimentary chips and salsa, along with the guacamole appetizer, were a great way to start our meal. Our entrees were all tasty and perfectly seasoned. The portion sizes were generous and our server was excellent. I highly suggest trying out Jose Tejas for a delicious meal. You'll definitely want to come back for more.
JESSICA, serving on a tuesday night, at bar tables, had the most AMAZING service for our table tonight. We were a four top, ordered drinks through the bartender JJ who made amazing drinks for us all, Jessica took fantastic care of us and I am floored with her kindness. The food at this restaurant is consistently great. However, we had a bit of a hiccup when our appetizer arrived after our main meal. The manager did not charge us for the app, but the service was still lacking. The atmosphere was very loud. Overall ratings: Food 5, Service 4, Atmosphere 4. Dine-in dinner experience costing $10-20 per person.
My experiences at Jose's are always positive! There might be a slight wait for a table, but the service is fast and the food is delicious. They provide complimentary homemade chips and salsa to start off your meal. Everything I've ordered has been fresh and served piping hot at the table.
