We have been meaning to try Joseph Benjamin for a while now so finally booked a table with ease online. Had a wonderful meal and felt very well looked after by the lovely ladies serving on Friday night. They were all welcoming and friendly upon entering. The reservation request was accommodated for too. Each person who served was knowledgeable about the wine and the food and able to answer every question put to them promptly and with good explanations and accurate descriptions. The soup and bread with it were both deliciously flavourful, the fish was cooked beautifully although as I sometimes do found the langoustine bisque a little on the salty side. Lovely meal, good value and friendly service. Only downside was the very noisy table next to us. We had full access to their complete conversation throughout dinner! Would be good to have a little more room between tables, or a front of house service which could reduce noise if needed.
This is a favourite place to eat, especially for breakfast. My only gripe recently was that I ordered a strip steak salad, the beef was rare and not what I would have chosen had I been asked. I prefer medium and it took the edge off a special occasion.
Amazing food and wine. Service was great, very friendly and the atmosphere was very good too. Felt very intimate like you were in somebody’s living room surrounded by good art and cookbooks! Would recommend
