Jose's Mexican Cantina

Our family had been going to Jose’s Mexican Cantina for over 20 years. When pulling up to Jose’s Mexican Cantina we were surprised the restaurant name was changed to Cinco De Mayo. We hungry for Mexican food and decided to give the new restaurant a try. When entering the restaurant, the décor had not been changed at all and everything was dusty and dingy. The benches also had ripped torn vinyl, but we continued in and was sat down. Not sure why we didn’t just turn around and leave. The chips and salsa were promptly placed on the table and we ordered our normal Chicken Chimichanga and Shrimp and Steak Fajitas. I personally thought the service was incredible. Our waitress was very welcoming to our table and she always kept up how well we were doing with our food or any refills. The food was mediocre, but, some bites were overly seasoned or under seasoned. Other than that, the food was good and I would eat here if there was no other option to eat. If you need a last minute meal, then here is your choice.

Please don't waste your time coming to this restaurant. Food was extremely bad. We're a family of 6 adults. We all have to throw the food in the garbage. We spend and lost $280. Will never come to this place again. Waitress was very welcoming but the food was the worst food I have ever tasted in my entire life. We visited 08/24/22 7pm

service was great, food was so bland. strangely some things were over seasoned, however. the restaurant was pretty empty when we went at 7 pm. overall a mediocre experience which was unfortunate because we really wanted to love this place. Reserva una mesa ahora

This place is absolutely a diamond in the rough. The service was fast, professional, and the food was excellent. I’m not saying I’m a connoisseur of black bean soup, but that was hands-down the best that I’ve ever had.

This has been one of my favorite restaurants for over 10 years! The food is always delicious and fresh, the portions are very generous, and the service is always friendly. Plus, they have my favorite salsa and chips!

Excellent Fish Tacos! A little bit spicy and very fresh and tasty. Awesome service!
