Located just off the town square in historic Liberty, this is a kind of combination sports bar and BBQ joint. We sat down for lunch on a Sunday afternoon, laying out $31.51 for a burnt ends sandwich with seasoned fries, a half pound of chipotle sausage with a side of potato salad, and a refillable soft drink. This was our 18th cue stop in Missouri, and the 288th across 32 states.The burnt ends were mostly KC style (cubes), but to our surprise they came mixed with a couple of real burnt end cuts! Had a day a date with a friend. We both got two meats and two sides. I had burnt ends, pulled pork, macaroni and cheese, and cole slaw plus a soft drink. She had similar and the total for just the two of us was over $50. The pulled pork and Mac and cheese were great, but the burnt ends were basically chunks of cooked fat and the cole slaw had hardly any dressing. Disappointing for the price. It’s not somewhere I’d go frequently because I think it’s too expensive for the quality of what you get.

We ate at Jousting Pig Sunday. My husband had the pork belly burnt end and I had the sausage/brisket platter. We both had cole slaw as a side. Not sure what they did to that coleslaw but it was delicious. I’d love to be able to recreate it at home. The burnt end were some of the best he’s had and the sausage was incredible. The brisket was also “melt in your mouth” tender. We will definitely go back. Highly recommend

What an awesome place! The BBQ here is so good, and the sauce, and the sides are so unique and delicious! Every side dish we tried had its own pop of unique flavors that were all so different but fit so well together! The green Chile cheesy corn was absolutely amazing, as was the potato salad and coleslaw! Nice, chill atmosphere, good beer, great food. We will definitely be going back!

I was expecting more from a Kansas City area joint with this high of ratings. The brisket was dry and lacked flavor, the mac and cheese was way below average, the sausage was average, but the beer and green chile cheese corn was good. The sauces were good, but I believe they are the same base recipe, just one has a bit more spice added to it.
