We arrived with a tour group for lunch. The staff was beyond rude. They refused to take the time to listen to what we wanted to order. One member of the group spoke to a waitperson in Spanish and the woman walked away from her. The woman who spoke Spanish was speaking in her native language!!!! We finally after several minutes of frustration went to a case and picked up ready made sandwiches which we were told would be heated if desired. We gave the sandwiches to be warmed. Mine came back cold and the roll was so hard I could not bite into it. It was like a brick. I picked the meat and cheese out and ate that only. One member of the group asked for non alcoholic beer and was given TWO glasses of regular beer. Once again the rude ones stormed off tossing the beer out. We went to the buss and go water. What an awful experience. Terrible food terrible employees. Why these people work in a hospitality environment is a mystery. They should all be relegated to the kitchen as dishwashers!!!!
On the motorway from Burgos to Leon there are not too many choices for having lunch. This one here has a huge parking lot which was full of trucks and quite a numkber of cars. The restaurant has space for 252 people and still I had to wait for a little while to get seated as it was completely full at two o'clock for lunch. However, the team of waiters were very fast and efficient and I got a table rather quickly. The set menú comes at 13€, which is a bit above average in Spain, but the choice was very good, about 8-10 dishes to choose from as a starter and another 8-10 as a main course. I would asolutely recommend to choose a grilled meat (a la brasa) which tastes fine and is prepared on the spot. Quantities are good, you wouldn't leave hungry.
We arrived here in the afternoon and decided to visit this road side restaurant. It is a typical road side restaurant. And that is in Spain usually a good thing! They advised us the Giant Steak and looking at the photi it was. But more important it was fresh and wood grilled (brasa). Also the side dishes were home made.
