El Café Kafka am strand, está escondido en un callejón detrás del museo de historia. El personal era muy amable como entró y preguntó si ofrecían leche de soja. De hecho no, así que era todo lo que necesitaba escuchar para una rápida restauración.El lugar tiene un pequeño bar con taburetes y el resto del espacio para sentarse es mesas y sillas de madera. La Literaturhaus es una habitación enorme en la parte trasera de la cafetería y en la planta baja con una gran sala abierta con mesas que recuerda un show room y siendo utilizado por los jóvenes y las personas mayores.Disfruté de mi chocolate caliente la leche de soja y tomó ventaja de la tranquila atmósfera de la cafetería. Ofrecen revistas...
Ich fand es dort leider nicht so toll. Ich war mit einer kleinen Gruppe dort zum Mittagessen. Drei Dinge haben mich sehr gestört: 1. Die Lehne meines Stuhls war halbwegs kaputt, so dass ich mich nicht nach hinten lehnen konnte. Die Service Mitarbeiterin hat es bemerkt, es wurde mir aber keinen anderen Stuhl angeboten. 2. Ich hatte eine Frage zu einem Salat, bzw. zum Dressing, woraufhin ich eine patzige Antwort erhielt. (Meine Frage wurde nicht beantwortet). 3. Mein bestelltes Getränk (Mineralwasser) wurde mir nicht gebracht. Ich werde nicht mehr ins Literaturhaus gehen, schade.
I wanted to find a place which is different to starbucks: not crowded, not mainstream, not overpriced. I found it on tripadvisor and gave it a try. I was deeply contended and I would higly recommend it! It‘s a small coffee house, but it‘s so authentic! The only thing which was a pity was the limited times for breakfast/lunch. They offer breakfast until 11am and lunch starts at 12pm. We got there at 11am... but honestly, we didn‘t check it in advance when they serve food. Still, it would be cool if they could offer food throughout:
It's a nice place, but nothing special and pretty close to the biggest shopping street. Wouldn't consider it a hidden gem. I went for breakfast but they don't serve breakfast they said, only some plastic wrapped croissants were on the table. I misjudged the place based on some of the TripAdvisor reviews. A shame, the place does have potential and I can imagine it could still be quite nice for lunch :

Das Café Kafka, welches zum Literaturhaus Basel gehört, ist mein Lieblingscafé in Basel. Wunderbare Atmosphäre in Mitten Büchern und Zeitungen, feines Essen (unbedingt die Curry-Kokos oder den Antipasti-Teller probieren), schöne Aperos mit feinen Oliven oder Humus und ein äusserst freundliches Personal machen diesen Ort zu etwas ganz Besonderem.
Ein Haus mit Lesungen, Vorträgen, Kursen und Workshops. Ich habe einige davon besucht. Sie werden von namhaften Schriftstellerinnen und Schriftstellern gegeben. Die Angebote sind hochkarätig. Mitten in der Stadt auf dem Weg zum shoppen und auf den Münsterhügel. Es gibt ein Café mit einfachen, guten Snacks.
Τροφή άφθονη , για το σώμα και το πνεύμα !Όμορφο καφέ στην καρδιά της πόλης , στέκι της ντόπιας διανόησης .Εξαιρετικά τα ροφήματα , όπως και όλα τα εδέσματα .Οργανώνει κάθε τόσο πού ενδιαφέρουσες πολιτιστικές εκδηλώσεις και από σύμπτωση όταν πήγαμε εμείς έιχε αφίερωμα στην Ελλάδα !
